I think because the white is opaque and the blue is translucent, it did the crackle effect on small scale. They are beautiful ❤❤❤

The cracks almost look like bubbles trying to rise during the curing process. I try to make features of incidents such as these. Thank you for your experiments.

I like the crack lines actually. And the two different colors are also cool… happy accidents as Bob Ross would say.

That is a *crazy* effect on the lid! I have never, ever seen or heard of that! Yes, it does look aged, giving it a really, really cool effect! I like the jar! 😊💕 To get the deep pour to hold the marbling, you will need to mix in the white after the resin has begun to get about as thick as the 1:1. That could be quite the wait, just make sure it waits in a shallowish container, to prevent flashcure!

It does answer a question for me: Deep but thin walled, does not need deep poor - thank you! It's a gorgeous deep blue - love it. Maybe a "pigment" white or something thicker/heavier than Castin' Craft white might work better? Just a suggestion, I have no idea, the white just looked pretty thin on both. Beautiful jar though, love that royal blue!!! 😍

The bottom turned out really pretty. It is really strange how the top had the imperfections since the mold was good. I wonder if you let the white thicken a bit before pouring together if you would get a more marble effect since it is such a thin viscosity.

Michelle, you can use the deep pour in your new curing machine. I did a huge deep pour dragon in mine and was able to unmold it in 5 hours. The marble effect might hold if you can get it to cure that quickly. Cobalt is my favorite blue and I love how the individual pieces came out.

That bottom is just gorgeous! Maybe the lid had some teeny water drops inside the knob and that's what caused the crevices?

I don’t understand why they chose that design either way too much resin for a lid in my opinion 🤨
@angelabrown1992
@angelabrown1992 Жыл бұрын
It does seem it would be easier and take less resin if the hollowed the center of the lid. No reason that I can think of that it needs to be solid. I wonder if there's a way to hollow out the lid so it doesn't have to be solid? Maybe I mean more like; finding something to fill the space so it's not solid resin. Does that make sense? I'm sure there's a better way to word that, just not from my brain apparently. Lol

Beautiful color, I really like this mold shape. It looks the cracks are exothermic reaction, regardless of being a deep pour, it still happens in hotter weather. Wouldn’t the color be look darker in a thicker walled pour vs a thin walled pour. ?❤ thanks for sharing,

I watched a wood Turner trying to get this effect. In deep poor resin, you have to allow it to start to thicken up. Quite a while before you can do the marble effect in them.

I think they're beautiful! Aside from the blue not matching because of the difference in the resins. The top "fault lines"...happy accidents?!? The swirling on the bottom is probably the difference in the viscosity of the colors and the way they were flowing to fill....just my guess, and since I'm not a chemical engineer...well...FWIW. lol. But love the technique!
