Going backwards through some of your videos. 😊 What a beautiful idea to use paua shells in place of sand! GORGEOUS! 💕👍 Perhaps there could be a bit lower music volume? Your videos are interesting enough, you needn't have music unless you just prefer it?

Can you just used Mika powder to colouring a resin or do you have to get the liquid stuff?

For this particular look (transparent) you would need alcohol ink or resin dye. Mica powder wouldn’t be transparent to see the shells through it. A tiny bit of acrylic paint might work too.

So cool! But i have a question please: When you put the shells directly on the mold, does the resin naturally seep underneath so that there is a layer of resin that covers the shells ( the bottom of the coaster)? I have always thought you need to lay a layer of clear resin before you put any object into the mold. Thanks for your great videos and detailed explanations!

Any time I put them in first I will mix them so they get coated inside the mold carefully not to scratch the mold, there is an upcoming video showing that with some small gold rocks.
