You have mastered the art of thin fine hair! I’ve always had thin, fine hair and now that I’m 62 it’s worse. I’ve let my hair grow to just below chin length, but it’s just too darn thin! I’m seriously thinking about going short again like you! I haven’t had the courage to go gray yet, but I figure by the time I’m 70, it will be time! Thanks for all the tips and trips! You look awesome!

Thank you for showing us thinning, fine hair gals how to have hair again. Your hair colour is lovely. As a redhead I have started to grey (yup that magic age of 60). We redheads tend to fade and “one day” have a yellow grey, not the beautiful silver. Oh well, as you say it’s what God gave me.

You certainly figured out the best products to use in your hair. I love your hair style and the color. I think it’s so adorable and glamorous at the same time. I tried short hair once. And once it will be. I think you carry that style perfectly. I was surprised how little (in my opinion) you do to make it look so great. I thought for sure we were going to get an hours worth of tricks you use to make get that end result. Loved this video. You always have great topics but sometimes they’re better than great….what am I saying?!! Your videos are ALWAYS outstanding in ALL ways. ❤

Thank you so much for this video! I have been watching your skin care/makeup videos for years but had never watched your hair videos until this one popped up in my feed. Several years ago I started having some hair loss due to a medication I was taking for cluster headaches so I stopped taking it. Before my hair could recover from that I had to be hospitalized for 3 weeks with Covid pneumonia. About 3 months after that I began having massive post-Covid hair loss. My hair is still quite thin and I have been looking for cuts and styling options. I guess that may be why your video popped up in my feed since it was titled in line with my recent searches. So I watched and realized that you do have thin hair (never thought that before by watching you). I forwarded the video to my stylist and made an appointment for a cut. I have now had it cut and received the styling products you use and I'm thrilled to say ... IT WORKED! It's easy for me to style and it looks like I have much more hair than I have. So I thank you for sharing and for titling the video "thin hair" or it might never have popped up in my feed.

I forgot about a product I bought several years ago and have found works perfectly for this cut. I did buy the Oribe Dry Texturizing spray and I do like it, but Joico makes a product called Hair Shake that is very similar. They both work the same for my hair and the Joico has twice the amount of product in the bottle as the Oribe for the same price. So if the Joico works for you it will be half as expensive. Still loving the cut and style 👍😊❤

@lorainemcgillivray77
@lorainemcgillivray77 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mary I think your hair looks great. All my life I had a massive amount of hair - really thick, course textured and wavy/curly. Every hairdresser commented on how much hair I had - enough for three people apparently. To dry naturally with no product took 12 hours plus. It was also really heavy. It used to grow from short to waist length in 18 months, so it grew really fast too. then came menopause and I lost a lot of density - I probably have a normal amount of hair now, but to me it feels so much thinner and makes me sad. I still wear it long, it's still curly and still blonde (with some white threads through it that keep multiplying lol). You can't see scalp yet, but I probably have half the hair I used to have, if not even less. I'm trying pumpkin oil to see if it helps - I'll let you know if it does. To try to be gentle with my hair, a few years ago I switched to really gentle products and use very little heat on it - a little bit of diffusing only and mostly air dry. I embraced being curly and stopped all straightening and heat styling. It has helped somewhat, as my hair feels healthier - at least what remains does. I still get compliments on it (which amazes me quite honestly), but all I see is how much less dense it is and how much loss there is. It's also like my skin dry dry dry and I use treatments on it really regularly, plus I use the ordinary scalp peptide serum to hydrate my dry/eczema prone scalp between washes. I'm fully aware other people have far far more problems than I do with hair that is really thin/fine, but for someone whose hair was so plentiful it is still a source of loss of confidence for me. I can only imagine if it was even thinner how I would feel, so my heart goes out to anyone dealing with severe hair loss. Best wishes.
@GlitzyFritzy
@GlitzyFritzy Жыл бұрын
I hear you...you are describing my sis except she is demonstrating enough loss that it's noticeable and I feel for her. I ALWAYS envied her hair. I wonder why this happens so drastically? Lately I've been watching home movies with my mom and so I've seen me a lot from my 20's and I notice that my hair is no thinner than it's ever been which shocked me but it just goes to show that back then it never even occurred to me to be self conscious about my hair! I also noticed a few other things I'm NOW insecure over that were also present then that I never even noticed LOL Please do let me know about the pumpkin oil!

@@GlitzyFritzy I will do. Apparently it’s the oestrogen loss that allows our testosterone to affect our hair. Not everyone experiences it, but if our follicles are sensitive to testosterone it will happen. It’s like not all men lose their hair - my partner still has a really thick head of hair into his fifties and obviously has testosterone just like other men. His follicles are obviously not sensitive to that testosterone and that’s usually due to genetics. I hope that answers the why for you and perhaps some others x

I used to have the thickest hair that that's all my stylist would talk about! With hypothyroidism and being on meds and going through menopause surgically, my hair started falling out in clumps so I get it. This was the first time I noticed your scalp but it's not bad when you do it at all! You are so pretty. I'm not sure you know it! i thought I was the only one who had old lady cracks! Lol My hair is still long, a little below my collarbone. Had it cut short and it wasn’t too bad but the second time I get that follow up cut it always comes out horrible. I think I have every hair tool known to womankind. I was a redhead and now people think I’m blonde, nope that be ugly yellow-gray. Yuck. So I wear it up, bun, French braid, French twist etc.

Hey Mary, No way could I do my hair without watching what I’m doing. Mine is way, way thinner than yours in the front half. Can you use that powder more than just in the part? I need the entire top of my head covered in it. Can I make it work that way? Thanks a bunch for this video! 🌟💕

I think your hair looks gorgeous! One tip I have recently used is to make sure you dry your hair on both sides, is really cute down on heat styling damage. For example, when I dry my hair I alternate passing the styler on both the top and the bottom, where I used to only pass on the bottom, the way that you do for lift. I was afraid it would make my hair flat, but it doesn’t. I still get lift at the end, and it really helps my hair to maintain its integrity. My hair is long though, heat damage may not be as important with shorter hair? Keep up the great work, you look fab!
