6:55 The thing that westerners Underestimate most is in China. it is central government And local governments are joining forces to support renewable energy companies. Something that would be impossible in the west. One notable example is Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, which became the site of BYD’s super factory in 2021. The Hefei government made tremendous efforts to support and facilitate BYD’s investment. The negotiation between BYD and the Hefei government took only 23 days, an unprecedented speed for any local Chinese government. When BYD claimed that the factory location was not flat enough for construction, the Hefei government mobilized over 1,000 trucks to move dirt and create a flat surface overnight.

Communist style governments are indeed fast when they set a goal. The problem is, they sometimes set very bad goals and disappear anyone who disagrees, leading to disaster.

20:57 You can buy a German mechine but that doesn't mean you can build a German car. You can buy a China mechine but that doesn't mean you can build a China battry.

Capitalism will save the *best* ... only if you have a very narrow, ruthless and very un-Christian definition of "bast". The US capitalist system is a sieve that filters on a number of qualities - compassion, empathy, scruples, morals - these are all filtered OUT on your way to the top. So only the LEAST deserving and most duplicitous people get to the top in a capitalist world. And in late stage capitalism you get - the modern US.

This was an interesting read but in my view slanted to the technology and not enough towards the price curves. Tony Seba over a decade ago predicted exactly what this analysis showed. If one gets off the LFP/Li bandwagon and looks at pure cost curves, it shows huge up-take in new technologies. Basic economics applied to the world economy reveal that the US and Germany are in trouble. A brief clip said that there are great opportunities in the Middle East, Africa and India. The changing world order is contained in this video, if you know what to look for.

One coming technology that I think the expert should be aware of and share as being a very strong contender, is geothermal energy storage by way of fracking technology like the US shale oil and gas methods which is being commercially deployed now in Texas and California and can be done cost effectively in 50% of the world and is cheaper than battery storage and can be scaled up to grid scale.

For me they serve different purposes in a grid and so the cost comparison is hard as it’s not like for like - but, for sure, we should get on a Geothermal expert

22:51 Why does she look disappointed to see lithium prices drop? See the Chinese government continues to develop sodium ion battery technology. No matter the profit, from the capitalist system Say what. Capitalism will not save everyone only the best people of humanity. But socialism will save everyone #NoOneLeaveBehind

25:43 😂Of course 40% of the European continent is Russian land The EU is not much bigger than the Indian subcontinent 😂😂 26:15 You just can't believe that battery prices are getting cheaper

Reply to a comment (which disappeared... 🤔) about solar & batteries picking up (once economical) in developing countries, also because of low variations between summer and winter. Answer: Indeed! And btw, basically everybody outside of Norden/middle Europe has much less variation in solar energy between summer ☀️ and winter. ❄️ For example the US and China have very low variation compared with Europe.

Of course Tesla will make batteries in eu if there is an incentive

LG and Samsung have already done it. What the EU wants is European companies building batteries in Europe

Tesla built a battery factory near Berlin but did not accept EU incentives as they judged the terms and conditions as obstructive. My understanding is that they sent much of the equipment to Texas for the factory there but still do some manufacturing in Germany.

But really the guest has not quantified the real situation. All my figures show growth, maybe at a lesser rate but growth. While vehicle sales overall are dropping significantly i.e. it’s the ICE vehicles that cannot sell. BESS is growing at very fast rates, why can’t she see this? Yet she can talk about, 6,8 and 10 hour battery systems. I am confused. Tesla have a two year delay in being able to supply BESS. This is despite the upgraded Lathrop and the new Shanghai factory and the current development of two further factories in the US. Now that is demand.

22:47 This fact gives hope for China's independent energy. It does not have to import lithium from Australia and Chile. 🎉🎉🎉 26:15 for now women. We don't know in 3-4 years. Can CATL make sodium ion Equivalent with LFP?Only time can answer
