As a fan of the modern EDF 4.1 and 5, I was very surprised to find out that this ps2 release checks ALL the bases! Just look at that draw distance and building destruction!

I know this is an old video, but what settings did you use on PCSX2? I'm asking because usually you get horrible blooming artifacts in this game when using hardware acceleration. In this video it looks pretty clean, though.

I just played this level on Vita last night! OK so this is the game in the series they remastered for it! I just beat EDF 2017 and EDF: Iron Rain, in the middle of playing EDF 4.1, EDF 5, and EDF: IA now along with EDF 2 on Vita. And I just finished Onechanbara Origins, Z2, the XB360 one, and started the Wii one. Man, I am on a serious D3 publisher kick this past month!!!!!

The graphics are good for the time, the insects are well modeled. insects do not look bad when compared to current games earth defense force.

A lot of people dont know about GDF/EDF I have 1 and 2 on Japanese PS2 and I have EDF 2017 and 2025 on Xbox. Insect Armageddon was horrible XD *****

Officially 2025/4.1 IS a remake of Global Defense Force/EDF 2: Invaders From Planet Space, not nearly as creepy but it is the same timeline Just like EDF 2017/3 is a remake of Monster Attack/The Earth Defense Force, that one is definitely still creepy, as it came out only a few years after EDF 2/GDF

2 years ago trying this in 1440 with my 1080 gtx I got slowdowns but I think it was my cpu cause it was a 3930k which I still got for sell if anybody wants Now with my new cpu 12400 I do 5k and get no slow downs

jimi baker It really shines with co-op. This very same game was released on PlayStation Vita as Earth Defense Force: Invaders from Planet Space. The frame rate was improved and it added online multiplayer with up to 4 players.

@@Blazedragonlord nah the emulator is busted even with the new GUI and playstation si busted and the renderer is busted there's insane ghosting even on the original hardware. that generation sucked and killed consoles. xbawks had toxic bloom this looked brown and drab
