Great talk that has packed lot of mind opening facts and insights. One most important and mother of all problems that was left out : Modern Banking system ie Fractional reserve system and alternatives. Also, economics is dependent on geopolitics as well as local political compulsions. Deficient educational system and Indian media have hidden all these aspects. That is why most Indians like us are surprised by the content of his presentation. 99.9% will not have any clue. Of course all know generally west is trying to loot, capitalism is bad , communism is bad etc But how all of these are tied together in order to sustain western hegemony is quite another thing and it is wonderfully done by Mr.Arvind Kumar.

Nice talk. It was better after 10 minutes. I feel that there are rigging in the financial industry and what he said about Dollar was absolutely true. But economics is a very complicated subject and we should be very careful while selecting policy options. Many respondents here are advocating going back to the past. It was indeed glorious and has much to offer. But we should not compromise our economic might at any point. It is the one thing that will keep us strong. Economy , military and knowledge are the most crucial elements. All the best to those people who are working for an alternative system which will place India at the centre.

Thank you for this very enlightening speech by Mr. Kumar. I endorse his views. India was a rich self sustaining country before it was looted by the Mongols , Moguls and the British. The fact of the looting is evidence of this. The looters must have seen lots of wealth, otherwise they wouldn't waste their time and effort to subjugate and loot. There is thus merit in the idea that India should implement those economic policies and the system that was in place before such invasions, subject to changes as may be needed to adjust to the current world environment. My take on the current international monetary set up is that a global market is a good idea but it can never operate in a just and fair manner unless one also has an single global currency. That will level the financial playing fields. Artificial manipulation of currency by the richer countries was and is being used as an instrument by them to ride on the backs of the poorer countries. The idea of "stronger" and "weaker" currencies is an artificial state of affairs that enable those countries with the allegedly "stronger" currencies to dominate the market. India should be careful about how it allows huge foreign corporations to set up business in India, lest its smaller Indian businessmen are put out of pocket. I am aware that the idea of a single international currency will be almost impossible to create because those countries that benefit the most from the present system will resist the idea. Therefore if doors are opened for them to trade inside India, it must be done under studied conditions that will protect the local small businesses and allow them to survive.

Great content and so much thought has gone behind these many of the valid points that were spoken here... Swadeshi production (Make in India) and consumption (Consume Swadeshi) is the IDEAL way for self sufficiency because we are ONE nation that need not worry for Food production/Agriculture and feeding our people.. Food is THE fundamental need for survival and everything else is just luxury which is just a nice to have.. and so Swadeshi luxury can be built over a period of time in India... with an inclusive mindset resulting in inclusive growth for maximum possible people.. though this model will be slow, but only that would produce the MOST stable economy (like our past Swadeshi) and self sufficiency with MINIMUM dependency on foreign products etc etc....Great thoughts for collective brainstorming... Great work!!

Dr. Swamy and all right thinking intellectuals seem to be in awe of the U.S. I'm astonished that even India's so called intelligence agency has no clue about the group I call globalists who run the world. Our entire world view, not just economics, has been created by globalist mouthpieces/agents. The scary part is anyone who tries to bring this out is labelled a conspiracy theorist. Ever since the BJP came to power, globalist mouthpieces have gone on a frenzy bashing Hindus and Hinduism. While at the same time globalist leaders have been cosing up to PM Modi praising him liberally. And in typical Indian naivety we are all being sucked in. We have all the answers we need to be strong and prosperous in our own native theories and ideas. But we have been enslaved too long to have the confidence to use them. It also requires strong will power because everything has to be radically altered. Human nature, especially an enslaved one has the most difficulty changing. But if we don't identify and understand the globalists gameplan we are doomed.

Today, small Indian companies have to borrow at Indian rates, while the foreign companies and large Indian conglomerates borrow from outside at low rates. RBI can easily allow securitization and relax rules for different govt and private funds to invest in riskier bonds (not loans) and financial products. Yet, RBI won't, MoF won't, while China has the biggest corporate and high yield bond market in Asia. We can bypass today's challenges of dollarized markets as well like China did. We just won't, because we fill crucial positions with bureaucrats, while brains like Subramanian Swamys of India are kept out for political reasons

In addition, they build the international payments system for international trade and monopolized it. US domestic consumption further ads to its value because everyone gets payed in dollars. Reducing interest rates is Ok if you have enforcement for spending it on infra. Not on bubbles. Low interest rates are part of the problem that causes multiple bubbles and recession in west.

And the list continues, these are minor things which won't affect our lives if we give up. But just 3 months of such behaviour will break down the dominance . Rupee-Ruble trade protected India for decades. When the Soviet Union collapsed, Indian economy also collapsed and in 1992 there was hardly any foreign currency in the hands of India as India used to get almost everything from the Soviet Union with 50 years interest free credits payable by exports from India. That system collapsed in 1992 and that was the cause of the collapse of the Indian economy. IMF took advantage of it and gave a false theory that socialism was responsible and privatization was needed.

What is the solution? What can a common man do? Shud we protest as Hindus to ask for state control of our temples to be removed and also that temples should not be taxed. Once we win that war, shud small businesses start a parallel economy , where they are their own banks and their business transactions are through these own private banks? It seems the western capitalist society is living the good life at the expense of starving indians

Karma repeates and fulfills it promises in very unknown ways. And india is an global power and all solutions are within our age old tradition systems itself and that is what will happen, may be a transition will take place were the wealth looted will be redirected back to India, whether they like it or not.
