Crystal Clear Fun - Shipwrecks, Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is a mere 30 minute boat ride from Bali, but definitely offers a more chilled experience both in and out of the water.
We filmed this session at Shipwrecks, which is the most consistent break on the island. The sets were only about chest high on this day, but the locals boys were ripping and making it look easy out there. The water out there is also some of the clearest we've seen in the whole of Indonesia.

Surfed this break a lot in the 80's when there was a different wreck on the reef. Used to have a great barrel just after take off on high, then as the tide dropped a bit it turned into a really nice backdoor peak, so many tubes.

How things have changed. Went there in ‘94 and only surfed the left on the other side as the right was so busy. Shallow as anything and paddled all the way from the beach aswell.

Those are seaweed farms. I think some local went back to doing that during covid as there were no tourists
