When my American team mate asked is the election a really big thing. I mentioned the winning party(popular vote) in 2014 got almost 3 times the no. Of votes Hillary Clinton (popular vote) got in 2016. And that is just under 32% of the total votes casted. Now imagine the size. He was also seriously shocked to know it is a mandatory holiday on election day.

Yes it is the biggest elections on the planet. But it has a serious flaw. Nearly 280 million eligible voters will not be able to cast their vote this elections. India is a country on move, people migrate because of jobs, business, marriage, education etc. These people staying away from their home can't cast vote because most of them will not be able to be physically present at the polling station on the election day. The need for an election which allow citizens to vote for their constituencies from their current residence is rising in India

To all of those crying over wrong map of India being used by Global News - That part of Kashmir shown as Pakistan's territory is under direct occupation of Pakistan & is currently not administered by India... nobody outside India uses full map of J&K as part of India.
