Russian police detain hundreds at Moscow protest in support of journalist

Russian police said on Wednesday they had detained over 400 people, including opposition politician Alexei Navalny, at a protest in Moscow calling for punishment for police officers involved in the alleged framing of journalist Ivan Golunov.
But his supporters went ahead with a protest on Wednesday, a public holiday in Russia, despite being warned by the authorities that their demonstration would be illegal.
Police abruptly dropped drugs charges a day earlier against journalist Ivan Golunov, a rare reversal by the authorities in the face of anger from his supporters who said he was framed for his reporting.

@Bekad Baens. This was a protest against a framed and jailed journalist who uncovered corruption among the ruling party. Many journalists have been brutally murdered for speaking against a regime that has usurped power and bleeds the country with corruption. The protestors should not apologize for standing up for their rights. The regime and it's doe's not feel sorry for what it does, and the protesters don't want their apologies. Apologies don't solve problems of an oppressive regime.
