Showed this to the toddlers who wanted to stay up for the fireworks. We are in America. It’s almost 8pm. They saw it and now we are all happy 🎉😊

@itsjustJen7304 We have two fireworks here. One at 9 pm when it finally gets dark ( it's our summer ). This is for the children so they can enjoy the fireworks. Then they can go home at a decent hour. It's big but shorter. Midnight is for the adults and party revellers. An open-air concert is held by the harbour between the 9pm fireworks and the midnight fireworks. Aussie artists and invited guests see us into the countdown. This year, Robbie Williams (who loves Australia) performed his classic songs. The crowd sang back. It was awesome and set the mood. That is who is in the background before the main fireworks. This year, we were unindated by overseas tourists from around the globe. Millions lined the foreshores. We get to watch it on TV live through our ABC TV station. This year, they hit it live on IVIEW ABC on the internet, so it was broadcast to the world the whole night, live. It's great to see your kids enjoyed the show. That's lovely to hear. Tell them us Aussies say hi and we are happy they watched 😁🦘🐨. Happy New Year from our land to yours ❤️

Whoever directed this fireworks show deserves a massive pay rise.🎉🎉🎉 Specifically the last waterfall feature off the bridge is absolutely wicked good. Only negative is, now Sydney has to maintain this benchmark next year too, which won’t be easy to repeat. 👏👏👏

@charlesc9884 The Foti family does the fireworks. They did them in Italy before immigrating to Australia decades ago. I think they are up to the 7th generation of the company. It's a family affair. They do fireworks all year round as well for any occasion. The waterfall off the bridge is spectacular in my eyes, too.🤗 It has always been included every year. It's always near the end of the show with the waterfall and the final crazy blasts. After the fireworks, the family has to clear/ pack up the Sydney Harbour Bridge for traffic, and they don't finish up until around 4 am in the morning. Then they get to have a beer/ drink, maybe a cannoli ( Italian delicacy dessert ) 😋 Wish everyone a happy NY. Have a rest, then clean and pack up. It's all hands on deck. Fireworks were at a few locations, Darling Harbour, on the other side of the bridge, including Sydney rooftops of buildings they launched from and the waterways. Full credit to them. They would be so exhausted every New Year. However, fireworks have been their life's passion and family business, and it brings millions in revenue from tourism. 1.6 million ppl surrounded the harbour this year. It was at capacity. Not forgetting all the ppl who watched from other vantage points and on boats/ships in Sydney Harbour. A rough cost of the fireworks was $7 million dollars. I don't think that includes the concerts for hours and the local and overseas guests 🤔 🤷‍♀️... but it may ! Overall, it's the biggest display in the world, and I think we nail it every year and start New Year off for the world with a bang and excitement 🤗... Not forgetting there's the 9pm show for the kids as well. So two helpings. Takes 9 months to pull it together !

the bridge was used for the first time in 1986. They saw how good the Brooklyn Bridge looked when it did its 100th anniversary and decided to do the same in Sydney. It's become an amazing nye tradition. Can only imagine what they'll do when the Sydney Harbour Bridge turns 100 :P
