The only true Silence is within.......... very deep within....... a great Yogi once expressed it thus, ' In moments when the inner lamps are lit..... And life's cherished guests are left outside..... Our spirit sits alone and speaks to its gulfs.'.......... that must be a silence that is Full....... filled with everything....... filled with eternity itself. This video of natural sounds is exceptionally beautiful. Thank You 😊

I spent all of last night having to listen to obnoxious humans blasting off illegal fireworks/c-4. Music and kareoke all night and into the morning...a bunch of drunks/drug addicts celebrating...don't move to Miami if you crave silence...I can say that, while I don't hate anyone, I do very much Hate what they do to violate others peace of mind...

I live in a suburb which backs on the Christiana river in DE. There’s a park across the way and a marsh. It’s so quiet…and the river is lovely. We see fox, beaver, deer…or at least deer tracks…they swim over at night. Its in a bird migration area as well…we have herons, all kinds of song birds, ducks, etc. It’s a modest house, which suits our needs. We bought it for the river.

Amazing. Gordon Hempton's work was introduced to me in a Positive Psychology course. It was for one of our earlier units - attentiveness. I remember walking through the city, listening to the quietest place on earth, with my noise-cancelling headphones. Silly me

Thanks Emmanuel. I love your work very much!!! I am very sensitive to noise and I literally feel its energy in my being... I am very affected by the noise of cities, alarms, horns... it is a tremendous pollution. Thanks for what you do! I'm going to look for your activities online even though my English is very basic. Greetings from Lima Peru

I loved your video. We lived very close to nature for a year, in a Nature Reserve on a mountain. That really made us appreciate the sound and the silences in nature. We realized when the conditions for a storm became favourible, certain animals would start calling in the rain.. First the rubber banded frog, then the cycadas, then the cuckoo. And then the rain would come. Sometimes during favourible conditions I would even play the recorded sound of the frog and the other 2 animals would join in. If you can really listen to nature where there are not many man made sounds, you would understand that sound literally creates. Therefore it would really be a good thing if humans could make more harmonious and less discordant sounds. Lots of love.

6:28 "And I think what I enjoy most about listening is that I disappear". Quite true. Couldn't we get a similar alleviating wholesome state while meditating in the middle of a noisy environment ?
@louchesimon4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I just ask myself whith the same question. I think yes because if you try to meditate in the middle of a noisy environment you'r like a microphone, and all sounds have a equal value, so you disappear with all the noise and sound. But to realized it you have to not analyse all the sounds, just receive them !

Gordon, I live in India. I have become so sensitive to sound that It hurts me mentally and physically when I go to even a small sized city. The unbearable honking, unnecessary loud conversations, religious establishments blaring their sound machines. I feel like l am an animal in a human who can't survive this urban noise we created. I hope I can find a solution to all of this and rise above.

Did I just touched The sound of silence? In the naked light I saw, 10,000 people maybe more: people talking without speaking (telepathy - one of the 12 5D gifts). People hearing with out listening. People writing songs, that voices never shared. Don't you dare disturb The sound of silence! Hear my words that I might teach you, S

I have always loved silence. I find Jesus in silence. It’s a whole different dimension. My generation grew up with a transistor radio on their ear and I tried but I hated the noise of rock music. I have gone into restaurants with old fashioned jute boxes and people are always putting coins in it and playing noise after noise. I have always said they need to have records of silence for 5 minutes. I would fill the thing up with coins for silence. Maybe a deep cave could suffice.

Not the Jesus who frequently promised eternal punishment/hell. Or said people can come to the father only through him, excluding all other religions. He spoke of hell/eternal punishment around 70 times, according to scholars, more than anyone in the Bible. Why, I wonder. Not what I look for in silence.
