This is a recording of the Session 5 June 3 panel of the CEI's 2021 gLOCAL events. The topic is Evaluation Education: Building a cadre of professionals for a post-pandemic Caribbean and the panelists: Professor MIchael Scriven, (Claremont Graduate University), Dr.Jerome Delisle, Dr Maria Gomes, (UWI, St Augustine, Trinidad) Dr Arlene Bailey (UWI, Mona, Jamaica), Dr Nadini Persaud (UWI, Cave Hill, Barbados), Dr Candice Morkel, (CLEAR Africa). The panel discussed the range of academic education and training resources available in the Caribbean region and the extent to which they are working to meet the needs of the discipline, and influence public policy in a post COVID world. Course lecturers described the courses they teach, and discuss the roles they expect regional graduates to play in Caribbean transformation. Participants heard from Dr. Michael Scriven about the importance of evaluation as a transdiscipline and also the findings on the thrust of evaluation education among universities in Africa based on a study from the CLEAR Initiative.
