In gen 4 the 20/21 have the same extractor so you only have to replace the recoil spring, and barrel. For anyone with a gen 4 they want to convert up something to remember.

I read different views on whether a 10mm extractor is necessary. Some actually advise against it,and suggest a simple filing on the stock 45 extractor. So I guess one doesn't know until trials.

Great video! I'm doing same conversion myself. I can't find any 4.6 barrel so I settled for 6 inch barrel. Alpha Wolf barrel doesn't have any visible caliber markings when installed and having a longer barrel eliminate any confusion which mag to insert. Thanks for your video! Ammo's are hard to come but good thing you stock up before the drought. I was lucky enough to find 10mm 200 grain FMJ from Sports Warehouse for &24.99 (50 rounds) per box. They limit 2 boxes only per customer.

It's a good video and I do own a Glock 21 and Glock 40. I tried converting the Glock 21 to a 45 super and also to a 10mm. Now matter how much I trouble shot it, it malfunctioned left and right including with gun smiths. Now it wasn't every shot but it was at least one malfunction for every other mag. That is the fatal flaw with converions. They're just not one-hundred-per-cent reliable including 460 Rowland conversions. That's why after purchasing the G21 and loving it I went out and purchased the g40 instead of trying to convert the g 21. The g40 is flawless and has a 6-inch barrel. It's just my opinion, and I know many would disagree, but if you're shooting a 10 mm out of anything that's less than 6 in, you not going to get the performance you want. And when that caliber was designed, it was designed around a 6 inch barrel. Therefore you're not going to get the velocity that you should or are expecting.

I just bought the double diamond conversion for 45 ACP to 10mm. I also bought a stainless steel guide rod and spring at 20 lb. The Glock store says I don't need to change the extractor so I am hoping this conversion works just fine without it?

Yeah it should work fine without the extractor. I just bought one because out of all the components it was one of the cheaper items. Some people have gotten this conversion to function good with just the barrel swap. My luck is never that good.

10mm extractors dont fit in .45 slide,use a lci g21 extractor with inside step filed off and a non lci bearing. Also my dd barrel had very sharp edges on feed ramp side edges and around chamber opening. I beveled the chamber opening above feed ramp just slightly and widened the ramp slightly smoothing the sharp edges. Lead bullets just dug into those edges and jammed. Withh 22 lb recoil spring works great!

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. I personally wouldn’t keep that extractor in when you change back. It will more than likely work if you leave it in but may not work reliably when cycling.

There are conversion barrels made for this (.45 to 10mm). The .45 is much larger diameter than 10mm/.40 so the outside diameter of the 10mm barrel should be a lot smaller than .45 barrel, leaving a lot of extra space between the barrel & the .45 slide. Maybe it will function, but would guess that it would wear faster, less accurate & maybe less reliable cycling. Yeah, wasn't aware of the extracter needed mods/changes. I have converted a Glock to smaller diameter cartridge (.40 to 9mm) & it works great with only the barrel & 9mm mags. Same recoil spring, ejector, extractor & even sights were on target. Could use 9mm ejector if you don't like ejection pattern, but I found it not to be needed.

So thats a regular Lonewolf g20 10mm barrel, not a 45 to 10 conversion? It works safely, is there wiggle or play? Have you tried firing buffalo bore 220 gr hard cast? I bought a double diamond 45 to 10 conversion and the headspacing isn't as deep as that lonewolf there so I can't shoot BB 220. Will buy this one if your experience with it is satisfactory

I thought you needed a conversion barrel as well but you don’t. That is just a regular g20 10mm barrel. I have only shot S&B 180 and it shoots good

​@@gruffproductions683y'all just blew my mind ....🤯... I'm having issues with my DD .45 to 10mm "conversion" barrel too . I have mine in a stainless alpha wolf g21 slide . You have to baby it into battery or it will jam every single time literally every time and when it does shoot it chews up the brass like I have never seen . I thought maybe the g20 had a slightly bigger opening but I guess that settles that.... Maybe I just need a better barrel or do some work to this one ....DD barrels suck ....wah wah wah......... Would have got a better batter barrel or oem g20 from the get go had I known that.

Glock puts the 17lb recoil spring in the G21, G20 and G40. Can't see why everyone says you need to change it. Didn't change mine and it's flawless. Glock intended for their guns to shoot every piece of ammo that is on the market so save your money and buy another box of ammo. Or does everyone know more than Glock?

I converted my Glock 21sf to 10mm & it gets a failure to feed on each round. I got my parts from the Glock store & I installed a 22 pound tungsten guide rod recoil spring, the 10mm extractor, the conversion barrel & I’m using Glock 20 mags. I was thinking maybe it’s the tungsten recoil spring but everyone says it should be a 22 pound spring. Any clues would really help. Thank you

@@raulsanchez4493 I just got the Glock30 DD 10mm conversion barrel from Glockstore today. I haven't changed anything else except dropping the barrel in. Mine wouldn't extract any 10mm rounds when I was doing basic function testing and racking the slide to see how it ejected rounds. The rounds just fall straight down the magwell.

Dealing with the same bs with my DD barrel from GS. Its basically a single shot jam o' matic... And with the 10mm extractor the loaded chamber indicator sticks out a little bit on a empty chamber . I didn't even need it but with the 21 extractor it looked/felt empty when loaded so I bought the G20 extractor . Maybe I will custom fit it if I ever get it running right . Hopefully I can find some ammo that works flawlessly with this junky a$$ waste of a barrel ..... It would probably run .40 with no hiccups but that's just weak..... I will probably throw some more money at it at the range with some different loads I suppose. I've gone too far to turn back now....💸

@@Purrrrfectshot you can convert a 20/21 into 9mm with basic conversion kits. I'm not mistaken there are kits to convert 20/21 into around 12 other rounds including 40 s&w.
