Thanks for the video. I purchased my Glock 42 in October of 2014 and it was stolen during a move shortly after and I never had the opportunity to even fire it. But it was recently recovered by the police and now I'm looking to upgrade and your video really put certain items in perspective. It's also nice that in the past 4 years a considerable amount of upgrades have become available opposed to when the gun was first released. Again, thank you.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had your G42? I'm looking to pick one up soon to replace my current EDC. Some folks say I'm crazy to go with a G42 in 2022. Honestly, I don't care because the G42 exceeds my expectations for what I need in an EDC. That being said, is there a certain store you'd recommend? Money isn't the issue, but like everyone else, I want a good deal. Any saved money will definitely go towards ammo/mods. Take care and have a good one.👍

Ghost Inc. Mini Magazine extension device (+2 with included spring @ $20) combined with Pearce Grip PG-42+1 for $10 gets you a super slick and still uber compact 10 shooter (9+racked). Best upgrades for the money if you want a minimalist easy grabbing 42. Super pairing with the Hogue Carry Holster.

I just bought two of these. I buy two of every weapon that I have that way I always have a backup. I love this little gun more than I thought I would. My favorite 380 though is the Glock 25. But my collection I get the full size and the compact version of each caliber that I like or that I want. Not going to really be able to do that for my 50 GI though

Don’t forget glock makes +4 mag extensions so it is a great home defense gun now that you can have 10+1 and now that underwood makes bullets with the Hornady XTP bullet going 1200 fps and goes 15 inches into ballistics gel consistently 380 is back in business and this is an amazing gun for all around Use

Just my opinion for what it’s worth I’d definitely go G42, it’s alittle bigger, if you want something small as or possibly smaller than the bodyguard go with the LCP2, I have both, both have better triggers than the bodyguard and that’s critical in small pistols if you wanna be able to hit anything. 👌

Nice review. I have the same pocket holster for my Glock 43 and Sig Sauer P230 (90s vintage -- stainless steel .380 that looks very similar to the Walther PP) and I just can't get used to wearing the extra flap, so I just use the holster bit. It prints on my tighter jeans, but it's still pretty well hidden in casual shorts. I'm surprised I haven't found a single review on the Lasermax guide rod laser for the G42(3) pistols yet. I bought one, but the cap/switch doesn't work. It's brand new, so they are mailing me a new cap right away. Not a good first impression though! I have one on my G17 that seems to work just fine, however.
@tscooter228 жыл бұрын
***** I bought my G43 a few weeks ago and I kept looking for one on Lasermax's website, but it was never available. Then I found one on Optic's Planet for $269.95. List price is $299, so it wasn't a bad deal, not to mention there's a $30 rebate available right now. $60 for the one I bought for my G17 (green version). Are you aware that the G42(3) laser has user selectable setting for strobe or continuous on? I was happily surprised when I read that on Lasermax's website! I would have loved to see the option for green, but red works very well on my Sig Sauer, so it doesn't bother me much. I'll let you know how I like it when I get the new battery cover/switch. If I forget, feel free to reply in this thread and I'll see it in YT notifications (whatever it's called).
@tscooter228 жыл бұрын
***** I just installed the replacement laser and it seems to work okay, but I haven't shot with it yet. Of note, the Crimson Trace laser grip (red) on my Sig Sauer P230 is about twice as bright as the Lasermax LMS-G43, but there are tradeoffs with both. While I like Crimson Trace pressure switch instant-on ergonomics, sometimes my right finger blocks the laser. Not a huge problem, but if I were in a time crunch, it might make a difference. Probably not much more time than it would take or me to draw my Glock 43 and press the breakdown lever/switch to turn it on. The option for steady or blinking laser is a nice new feature on the Lasermax, I only wish I had the option for green. The green lasermax on my Glock 17 is MUCH brighter than the red one on my G43. Daylight is where it's most of an issue. Quite honestly, I'd call it almost useless in bright daylight. So, if that's important to you, I'd stay away from it.

Have you seen the Pearce +1 finger extension? I searched Amazon for Pearce +1 on Amazon expecting a +1 but without reading the description, I bought the one like yours by accident (finger extension only). I found a Pearce +1 at midwayusa.com. It's the same size as the one you have but the hollow bit is filled in. I also bought the Taran Tactical +1 mag extension and I love the low profile look and feel (warning, you can't use the butt plug with it). It's flat like the standard Glock magazine and only ~1/8" longer. (See it on hickok45's G43 review).
@tscooter228 жыл бұрын
Not that I'm trying to change your mind; The flat black Taran Tactical +1 looks almost identical to the shorter magazine that came with the G43. Were you looking at the grey or other color? One reason I like it is because it's very small and it's just as comfortable for me to wrap my pinky under the magazine as it is in front of it. Then again, I also like the look and feel of the Pearce, and like you said, it does match the gun nicely. Yes, I'm confused! Actually, I'm experimenting with different options to find what I like best. One of the main reasons I bought the G43 was because I was interested in a smaller CC weapon than my Sig Sauer. Adding bigger magazines kind of defeats that purpose.

The caliber .380ACP: Most folks today use the 9mm (70%). While few use the .380ACP (2% to 3%). For much more power & a little bit cheaper ammo cost the 9mm is far superior to the .380ACP. Happy Independence Day!
@jimsmith14244 жыл бұрын
sweetcostarica actually my friend teaches classes for concealed carry and most popular gun is 380. I have both the 9mm and 380 and feel comfortable with both.
@sweetcostarica4 жыл бұрын
@@jimsmith1424 Your friend must teach women &/or the very old because I never heard that today. _In the 70's & 80's yes, maybe._ For example, *my CCW/CHP Concealed Carry License Class' guns* Early 2020 I took a class to get my CCW/CHP license and out of the 12 people in the class there were: Nine (9) 9mm pistols, one .38 Special, & two .380 ACP guns, - a .380ACP Colt 1903 Hammerless pistol, - 2 Glock 43, - 1 Glock 43X (mine), - 1 9mm S&W Shield, - one very small *9mm* was a 1911 style (I think it was a SIG) - one very small 9mm Beretta 92 something, - a 9mm SIG 320C - I think I saw a Taurus or S&W J-frame revolver in .38 Special, Other pistol that were there I don't know what brand they were but the were using 9 parabellum ammo. *NOTE:* one girl in the class had *_the other .380 ACP_* but was having a hard time using it so the gun instructor switched her gun out and loaned her a .22LR revolver to use. _How good a friend is your friend?_ As he sounds like a friend of a friend who said... cause by my numbers this guy is way off. Remember I a Not saying the .380ACP is not effective. I am saying: - 9mm is more effective (better hollow-point results) - 9mm is more powerful - Today's polymer 9mm Luger pistols are softer shooters, good for the recoil sensitive. - Today's 9mm for CCW/CHP conceal carry firearms are smaller & very similar in size to the .380ACP guns. - 9mm is cheaper in ammo (slightly) - 9mm is MUCH more popular. So it will be harder to sell & find ammo for the .380ACP *_the more popular 9 Parabellum gets._* If don't believe me, here is one of my references to the above data to study.
