Thanks for the comparison. All of my 9’s are DA/SA/ de-cocker setups so when it came to a backup/ around the house carry gun, I decided to try the Thunder 380. The sig offerings are just too damn expensive for what I wanted. The only time the Bersa choked was with super cheap and very dirty range ammo. I have since put several hundred rounds of my preferred defense ammo without a single issue. I liked the Thunder 380 so much that I bought the TPR9c as a backup in case my P30sk ever goes out of service. This gun has performed flawlessly with several hundred rounds of range and defense ammo. For those who like the added safety of a DA/ SA and are budget conscious then Bersa is worth looking at.

I had that same Bersa for 8 years and just traded it in for a compact 9mm. It was accurate for its size but the problems I encountered with it were enough that I couldn’t trust it with my life. For starters it’s a pain to field strip. The tab on the outside trigger lever would stick out just enough that you couldn’t put the slide back on and I’d have to get my wife to push it in with a flathead just to put it back together. Problem #2- picky about ammo. I found 1 brand that fed correctly- very bad about repeatedly jamming. Problem #3- 380 ammo went up $10 in price after 2020 in Texas. 9mm is still under $20 a box. Food for thought.

I have thie exact Bersa Thunder CC model. 100% reliable and amazingly accurate. For $200 used (like new) how can you go wrong. Its my EDC.💪and I have a Sig P238, S&W Shield plus, and CZ Rami.

Give the Ruger Security 380 a try. It is a lot of gun for $300 Super easy slide manipulation, very accurate, very lite recoil due to being a mid-size gun, comes with a 10 round and a 15 round mag. (I actually have switched to this gun as my EDC for the 9 months of warmer weather we have, but still carry a Walther PDP-F in the cooler months when a jacket is needed. I also bought a Bersa Thunder .380 (15 shot, threaded barrel) I plan to use this with my suppressor...I have not had a chance to try it yet, but I think this will make for a pretty good combo, since nearly all .380 ammo is subsonic by default.

I've had my Bersa thunder over 20 year's and still loving it for a 380, thousands of shots later.. but its not my EDC Bought it for fun and also taught my grandson to shoot with it when he was 7 years old many years ago. Dang I'm getting old...

Ammo selection is so critical with it. Definitely have to check ammo and find ammo that actually works. My daughter and a couple of my nieces carry them loaded with Defender Ammo's 102gr Remington Ultimate Defense bullets or with Underwood's 90gr +P JHP. Both of those loads are SNAPPY in a small 380. Both penetrate to 12 inches and have decent expansion from the tiny tools they carry

I have a bersa Thunder plus. Actually a great gun. Zero issues. It doesn’t have the greatest fit and finish but so far reliable. I will say the 15 round double stack mag is impossible to find.

The fixed barrel of the bersa has one advantage in close combat it cant be pushed out of battery. There is also a Thunder plus with a wider grip and 15 shot capacity.

Yes, it most certainly can. The slide is what goes out of battery, not the barrel. That’s why the revolver is the only one that assures you of not failing. Now, the Bersa’s slide, it being rounded, may mitigate that possibility, but it still exists.

Is the recoil on the fixed barrel Bersa greater than the browning locking lug style action on the other two? Or does the weight and larger grip make it a wash?

I had a Bersa and the G42 and the Bersa definitely had more felt recoil. I have never shot the Sig but I found the G42 to be the softest shooting 380.

Walther pk 380 is veeery very soft shooter

I have shot, not owned, a Walther and I can say that it’s similar in felt recoil to the Bersa but a little more if your Bersa has the rubber grip on it. The G42 still has less felt recoil, IMO.

There's one other issue with the Bersa that hasn't been mentioned. The safety is counter intuitive. Not only that, the muscles that pull your thumb UP are weaker than those that push it DOWN. That's the reason I do NOT carry the Bersa as my edc.

You are right about the safety...(darn Europeans and their goofy gun traits!) I have had others like that, and just opt to not use the safety. (Treat them like a Glock)
