Easier way to do this. Use a dental pick not a screwdriver to get to spring out. Once the spring is out use a small plastic tube and slide it onto the spring. I use the bottom half of a ball point pen with the ink cartridge removed. Then you can just pull back an the old mag release will fall out. Pulling back slightly insert the new one and then just pull the plastic tube off. Use the dental pick or a screw driver to push the spring into place.

Just installed mine... worked great with the aftermarket mag. But would not allow the stock Glock mag to be inserted. After inspection the metal mag release was digging into the polymer mag. Removed it and put the stock one back in and it functions normally with both mags. Done buying Glock jewelry.

I replaced this part in a Glock 43X without problems, but I just can't "scoop" the spring to get it to pop out of the factory release button and I have used various flat screw driver heads. It is not working out.... but then I watched another KZbin and realized it worked easier if I went with the screwdriver from the top of the gun frame instead of the bottom as Lenny did. I then used a hollow tube (like a pen case) to hold the spring back and inserted the new release button - the spring then popped right in with the screw driver..... done!

Lenny makes this look like a piece of cake. But for me this has got to be THEE MOST difficult part to install in any glock especially the 42 and 43. You're gonna need a heavy duty flathead and some muscles... I swear I will never take this mag release off it EVER again...

I've bought these for all of my Glocks from you, Lenny. The G43 does not permit this to be installed as easily as you are showing it. Was this video edited down to make it look easier? I have been working at it for about an hour but the spring refuses to return to the notch. I'm pretty sure that the single stack magazine well is to blame. I would call the store, but as you know, no one answers the phones on the weekend. I am going to drive downtown in search of a gunsmith...

Does the metal mag release wear down the polymer of the magazine?
@anonboi96 Жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely, I just had an issue with my G19x today where the aftermarket metal mag release wore the notch on the magazine that locks into the mag release so much that the mag dropped out of the gun after every shot. Do NOT mix & match the material of your magazines & magazine release

DO NOT BUY! Here is what happened to me. I bought a "Glockstore" Gen 3 extended magazine catch for my Glock 17L. I was really happy with it, it looked really good in red. I did notice that the magazine catch didn't catch the mags as the OEM part, but I didn't think much of it. I did notice since the beginning, that the Glockstore magazine catch was removing a little amounts of plastic from my magazines, but I didn't think much of it, everything was working fine with 9mm 115 grain ammo, with the exception of 1 stove pipe (Which I think it was because of the poor tolerances of the Glockstore mag catch) Here in my country ammo is really expensive (Around $25 for a box of 115 grain PMC range ammo and around $55 for a box of defensive Remington Golden saber hollow point ammo) for that reason I try not to shoot good quality defensive ammo. I might shoot a box every year or so. One day I shot that expensive Remington ammo (It is a 127 grain, not a 115 grain) I shot the pistol once and the magazine fell out, I shot it again and it fell out, I ended up shooting it 4 times and the same thing was happening. I changed to the Glock OEM magazine catch and The same story, all 8 of my NEW magazines (Which cost around $90 here) were damaged because of the Glockstore magazine catch, obviously my EDC magazine had more damage, but I can't trust my other mags anymore. I put a barely damaged Glock 33 round mag in my gun and the gun worked flawless, all 33 rounds shot perfectly (115 grain PMC, ran out of the expensive ammo) But Now I'm stuck with 8 magazine that might not be reliable, I also wasted money on the Glockstore magazine catch, and on all of that ammo that I had to use, in order to determine what was wrong with my Glock. Now I have to wait until I travel to the states, to buy some new magazines over there and I'll probably get a new magazine catch spring and a Gen 4 ejector just in case, so that my gun is completely reliable. Stay away from this, stick to OEM parts, when it comes to the magazine catch. Thanks Glockstore, you screwed me, I will have to use my old single stack Smith and Wesson for the time been.

Jose O I've not had that issue. I've got them on my poly 80 v2 and my race glock 35. If I were you, I would contact them direct and let them know if you already haven't done that. Their support is awesome....
@jeremymetcalf25025 жыл бұрын
Aaannnddd this is why Glock made the part out of polymer to begin with. You can't use really well squared off metal on polymer, and not expect it to cut into it. Even if that metal is aluminum.

Dont buy the red parts from this guy they come the wrong color red as in not bright and metallic looking but a dark brick red for the g19. Disappointed and the customer service is fine but they said they cant control the quality of red that comes out, sometimes it's dark and sometimes it's not! That sucks
@dinosoarskill175 жыл бұрын
James Allbright I personally think they should own up to that and return the ones that don’t look good to whoever anodized their stuff. But I think it just speaks to the quality standard they stick by, so I too refuse to to order their stuff after some reviews.
