I see your point about this gun being too big for a pocket gun. Why I like this gun is because I carry around a G17 all day on duty, so off duty I usually carry a G19 in an holster on my hip. But I like to carry often inside the waistband, which the G19 gets a little heavy and thick carrying IWB. So the thinner, lighter G43X is perfect for IWB carry, with 10+1 rounds vs. 6+1 if I went with the G43. So that's why I like it. Love your videos, keep it up.

Thanks for reviewing the 43X. I've been an LEO for 23 years and a dept range officer for 17 years. I've carried quite a few different firearms over the years and carry both a G19 and a G43. I bought the 43X and it fits me very well and is now a belt gun for me. It's the perfect fit for me. I've always been partial to the 1911 and the 43X has a bit of a Glock x 1911 feel to it. 11 rounds along with either 1 or 2 spare mags on my belt suits me fine. I did put Glock night sights on mine (I have seen polymer front sights damaged on carry guns). So far I have 500 rounds thru mine with no issues (115,124,147). I don't expect everyone to like the 43X, but it's one heck of a compact pistol....... As always...great review.

The more I shot the G43x and the G48, the less I was inclined to be too critical of them. Regardless of whether they fit exactly what I want for myself, I just kept getting the feeling that these things would be very popular. Regardless of all the negatives I talked about, there's no way to ignore that both are handy little pistols that are not too heavy or two thick. And like all Glocks, they go bang every time.

@@hickok45Agree with your point. But your comment about 365 reliability is a concern. If reliability is in question with any firearm, DON’T CARRY IT. You’ve gotta have faith in your carry firearm! For me, the 365 grip is a dealbreaker, especially since it requires me to shift my grip for a clean mag drop.

The 43x quickly became one of my favorite firearms for EDC. It is the most accurate gun in my collection next to my Beretta 92FS. I have never regretted purchasing the 43x. Great gun!

I see the 43X and the 48 as a more Ideal IWB carry gun because it is thinner yet it has a relatively full size length grip for a more positive grip when unholstering under stress. For people that are in a 10 round restricted state it is a less printing option to the G19 for concealment.

I'm in northern Wisconsin and you get me through the winter! I recently got into reloading last spring with the Redding T7 press and have been upping my long range game considerably! I recommend it for anybody like me. I'm disabled but still feel like I need to be out hiking in the mountains and shooting and hand loading kind of gives me a reason to keep going. 193001 kiplssd I’m a confused person, I am a 1911 guy. Love them. Have the sig scorpion. Love to “bash” my buddy that carries a 21..... while I load the mags for my 19, 19x, and 43. Also I prefer apple products over android and Microsoft simple for the fact of their simplified UI. To me apple is to the tech world as glock is the gun world. (I would like to point out I’m not bashing you, your weapon of choice, or your tech of choice, just making a comment while I’m at work that shows there’s odd balls in every group lol.) P.S. I also liked the video and honestly considering getting the 43x as a back up carry to my 19x. (My 19 is my home/truck gun. Has a laser/light combo)

Don't forget conceal carry. Lots of us carry appendix or inside the belt on our hips. For those uses, double stacked pistols aren't as comfortable. The 43X looks like the perfect fit. 11 rounds, thin enough to be worn inside the belt and a grip long enough to get a good hold on it.

I ordered a Glock 43x with factory night sights, from Buds, 2 weeks ago, the Thursday, right before Christmas. It arrives at my local FFL, today, on the 2nd. I own several firearms and love almost all of them. I also own a lot of Glocks, and prefer them as my conceal and carry firearm over any other firearm. The department that I work for uses Glock 22’s, and seeing the durability and reliability of Glocks, is why I trust them. I bought a Sig Sauer P365, about 2 months ago. It was either in the end of October, or the beginning of November. Since owning it, I have had nothing but issues with it and don’t trust it. I originally bought my P365, for my wife to carry. She has really small hands and my firearms that I own that have double stack magazines feel very uncomfortable to her. So now, I will have her try the 43x out. If she likes it, then that will be her carry firearm. If not, then I’ll keep on looking for something for her. I will also have my daughter try it out too. If the 43x, also feels good in her hand, then I’ll buy her one as well. But, she won’t be able to carry it until she turns 21. With what Hickok, said about the 43x, being to big to carry as a pocket gun and it being a belt carry only firearm, I have to disagree with him. This is a great firearm for women. The thinner, single stack frame, make it easier for them to carry. It allows them to have a full grip, and allows them to carry at least 10 rounds and eventually, 15 rounds, when Shield Arms releases their S-15, 43x metal magazine. With the 43x, you also still get the long term Glock reliability and durability. But for women, they can conceal the firearm in a purse, ankle holster if they are wearing pants, inside the waste band either on the hip or appendix carry. In their vehicle, that may be a smaller vehicle and have very minimal storage etc.. Personally, I think Glock did an outstanding job on both the 43x, and 48. I cannot wait to get mine at then end of the day today, after I get off work. Then this weekend, assuming that the weather is nice, I will be taking my wife and daughter to the range and am going to start training them.

as someone that likes to carry IWB because i dont like wearing a lot of warm clothes (and if I do, i remove my coat while indoors) i find the glock 43 a great iwb carry gun. now, im not 6’8, i am 5’8 with an above average build. I carried the 27 for some time IWB and it was too fat to have wedged inbetween my waist and pants. i can see this being a good IWB conceal carry for people that want more capacity and the reliability of the glock. the longer grip will print more easily under a tshirt, but that is up to you if you want more rounds. for me, i cant get to pocket carry until we venture into the realm of 380s which i dont really care for. a decent compromise between the 19 and 43.

The shield arms mag is a game changer though. You have the same capacity as the G19 with a smaller frame. The 43X is the best one to carry IMO if you have the S15 mag from Shield Arms. HUGE difference.

Before I bought my first carry gun I rented Glocks, Sigs, Springfields, Walthers, CZs, and M&Ps. Put as much ammo as I could afford through all of em for months...and nothing was unreliable. Brand really makes no difference when you’re talking about the top 5 or so. I just tell people to buy whatever they shoot the best...and I do not shoot Glocks well.

Pick you company of choice , then the model , then read the forums , all the mass produced polymer pistols have issues .. you shot a sample size of ONE , models that have been out for a few years have far less issues then the latest wonder gun

Cole Byre funny thing was I was shooting my cz75 sp-01 tactical for 6 mo the and then I rented a glock 19 gen 5 and I shot it even better than any of my own guns. Idk if it was just a lucky day cuz I was destroying all the rentals that day. I felt like someone must have modified it or something like that. I never liked glocks till I shot that one. Now I don’t mind it. Kinda want one but I want a 1911 more.

Internet people claiming hickok45 is a Glock "fan(man)" haven't been paying attention. Among the many themes of Hickok's channel (safety, education, proper firearm handling, defending the 2nd Amendment, smoking pots and destroying garbage sodas 2 liters at a time) there has been a running theme of his quest for the best combination of small+light+capacity+reliability for a carry gun. His fandom of Glock comes from the fact that Glock has long been the best combination of small+light+capacity+reliability. The P365 has changed that (assuming they worked out the reliability part).

NJ here. I just got a Colt M1911.45 on Tuesday. I have wanted one since I was a kid and I finally got around to it haha. When I went make my final payment for it, the gun clerk let me hold the 43x and I loved the feel of it. I'm probably going to be getting a G43x or G48 as my next purchase. Greg, I agree that the G43x is not a pocket gun, and it will only get lost in the crowd of OWB guns. I carry a G27 with an extended grip IWB every day and will be running out to purchase the thin G43x with the larger capacity soon. I'm not sure what percentage of the 16 million plus CCW carriers carry in the pocket, but the vast majority carry IWB. That's a huge market being addressed by Glock. Surprised you didn't mention that. I'm a huge fan of yours and your reviews are the best! Keep America Great Greg!

Just got my 43x yesterday. Loving it! Did notice the 'finger thing' after the 1st 40 rounds though. Not a deal breaker for me either. I love how it fits my hand. I'm a woman with larger than average 'woman hands' but certainly smaller than most 'man hands'. I simply love this gun.

Thank you for commenting! I keep having issues with staying on target and I believe it's because I have to creep around to pull the trigger; so I'm not gripping as well as I should. I fired a 43 and it was like magic and I honestly think it's because I can grip more properly. Do you have any other weapons that fit better in your hands? I need some more options

@@brandih4882 No, nothing that fits better. For me, the way my 43x fit my hand was the final selling point. I had watched several review videos & thought it was the one I wanted, but actually putting it in my hand was what removed any doubt. I still LOVE this weapon! In my experience, if you ask 100 people, you'll get at least 95 different answers. You have to go with what feels right to you, what fits, has the features you like, etc. We all know the top 'firearm rules', but the one everyone forgets is personal preference. My son doesn't really like my 43x. It doesn't fit his big ole man hands too well. My best suggestion would be simply to hold several & really pay attention to how they feel. This probably isn't much help, but I hope it is. You will preform better with what is truly comfortable. Good luck to you. Oh, & don't forget that you can almost always change the grips on what you already have. That may help, for a lot less money.

I fought jumping on the Glock bandwagon for the longest time but once I started shooting them I fell in love with their "boring reliability". I now own several Glocks and I love all of them. The 43X and the G48 are pretty cool but I couldn't justify buying one just because if I'm going with something that size I'd want a "standard capacity", I think Glock was kinda going for markets in states that have magazine restrictions with these pistols 🤔☺

I didn't know anything about the P365 or the 43x. I handled both of them yesterday, along with several other single stack pistols. The size to capacity of the P365 really stood out. Also had one of the nicest triggers. I'm also thinking that the P365 is the way to go.

This is my everyday carry. Highly recommend this gun for personal protection, ease of use, and incredible comfort just sitting in your hand. I swapped out the mag to hold more ammo, but everything else is absolutely fantastic with this handgun.

I've EDC'd a G19 for longer than I can remember. It's a great firearm and fantastic carry gun. I'm looking forward to adding the G48 (a/k/a Skinny Nineteen) to my carry rotation. It will be especially nice for the six months of summer we have here in Flyover Country.

Duluth Fire Hose Cargo Work Pants have big enough pockets to carry the Glock 43X. Having the longer grip also helps when drawing the gun from the pocket. At least that's the case for me and those Duluth pants. The smaller guns like a G26 or P365 are slightly harder to draw from the pocket.

Yep, with a large enough pocket, it opens up a lot of options. I've carried a Glock 19 before in a Cargo pocket or large vest pocket.

I like them because they are durable and last a long time and the cargo pockets fit my other EDC gear really well and the back pockets are velcro closed and hold my backup ruger LCP really well. I've tried several different pants and they just work for me.

I looked for this video because I just got the Glock 43X American Flag collector edition to replace my Glock 19 for daily concealed carry but I noticed that I tend to pull left too! So I am not alone! I do love the 43X, 500 rounds now with no issue. Thank you :)

I love hickok45 but this time I think he failed to consider the convenience of this gun for someone who wants to appendix carry and the fact that its slightly thicker than a G43. The comfort of nearly a full size gun but in a package that makes moving throughout your day and bending over much easier. Also, if you do appendix carry, you can carry a G43x with an extra mag in a slim and spread out holster by someone like tier1concealed and have more comfort than appendix carrying a G19 or an M&P9 2.0 Compact without an extra mag. So 16 vs 21 rounds with more comfort. Also, the Sig 365 feels like holding a 2X2, its some what square in grip shape. Yes the 365 is small, but I'd rather a gun that will comfortably shoot 21 rounds guaranteed vs uncomfortably might shoot 25. He is always honest in his opinion. Also, he does have big ol' hands and big ass pockets so it seems like his optimal carry set-up is different than people who prefer appendix rigs and/or can't fit a g43 in the pocket and still have a quick draw.

I love Hickok45, too, but you might be right. I never appendix carry, so I really did not think about that. You definitely want a short barrel and a thin pistol for that, and the grip length would not generally be a problem, I suppose. Just kidding, though, I DON'T really love Hickok; the guy's not playing with a full deck of cards. :-)

Then a P365 with 12 round mag which is still even shorter than the 10 round x you showed us in the video would be even better for appendix carry right? +2 more cap. I'm really glad to hear you've been happy with the P365 and looking around the Tube haven't really seen many complaints so it really is top of my list for pocket carry. My last pocket carry was a Kahr MK9 Elite and love the size and love the Kahr trigger and didn't mind the cap. But the Elite was SS so it was HEAVY! I want to pocket carry again so as soon as I can... P365.

My 48 is easier to manage and therefore more accurate for me than my G43. My 48 has become my conceal carry. It feels similar to my 1911's. I'm sold on the 48! Also, I always change the connector to 3.5 without any spring changes. It makes it just right for me.

you mention pocket carry and say its too big because of the longer grip. then you say its too small for side holster carry because you can carry something bigger. you failed to mention the true purpose of this gun.. single stack weapons or even single and a half lol is primarily for in the waistband conceal carry. for two reasons . 1. less printing. 2. comfort... anyways. to get 10+1 on a skinny almost single stack carry piece is amazing.. my g19 is bulky and prints easily. it also isnt super comfortable. i usually carry my springfield xds. but i want more capacity and this weapon is significantly more... im buying one in the next week or two. anyways. you are still the man and i watch all of your videos. just wanted to highlight that one flaw in your critique. have a great day good sir....

I just went from my g19 gen5 to the new G43x and I love it so much. I was having the same problems you were. With my 43x, i can actually carry 3 o'clock while sitting down and driving fairly comfortably. Best decision i've made when it comes to conceal carry.

You are going to need a pretty loose or thick shirt for this not to print. Once they get so big that you can't wear a good fitting T-shirt in summer, it's too big IMO. In winter, you may as well go with the 19. I think he is saying he has guns that do everything this gun is designed to do better. This is like a jack of all trades master of none sized gun. To each his own though. You are the carrier and your best self defender. You'll be first on scene...

This gun makes sense for people like me in states with magazine bans. I have a Glock 19 that I carry daily, but I can only have 10+1 and feels like a waste carrying the bigger gun when I can’t have the extra 5 rounds. The 19 is my all time favorite but the 43x seems more practical to carry for my situation.

I agree that the 43X is too big as a pocket pistol. And it doesn't really make sense as an OWB holster gun. But the real value of the 43X is that it's an excellent IWB appendix carry gun.

I am usually the same way. Think that the pinky extension is gonna cause controllability issues. I recently bought a 43 though and I have done multiple mag dumps. Thing is smooth.

I'm a line cook and when carrying a Glock 19 appendix, you can't just bend to get something out of a lower drawer. You have to acrobatically move to keep it from stabbing you. After 4 years, I switched to the 43x and it's so comfortable, I forget I'm carrying. It's not just the slimmer width, it's the shorter barrel that makes it wearable. The G 19 would end up in my backpack after an hour.

Just ordered one through the Blue Label Program because at that price I couldn’t say no. I carried an exposed hammer/decocker most of my career (post 1911) and that is what I am most comfortable with. Decocker popularity seems to be waning so I thought I better at least take a ride on the bandwagon. Thanks for the video and for giving up your time.

Remember about a year or two ago when everyone said slide length didn't matter it's all about the handle length. Now with the Smith compact in 3.6 and the 43x now the industry is saying what you really want is a full size handle and a short barrell.

the reasons you wouldn't buy the 43x are the reasons I did buy it, I wanted to move up from a sub-compact pocket to a compact holster pistol and with all the holster choices on the market there is no problem finding a perfect fit, I also wanted more grip, while I can shoot a short grip with the pinkie hanging over fine at the range in a panic situation I do believe a longer grip will aid accuracy, lets face it there are few of us that have your skill sets, most people would back down from you if all you had was a sling shot. I must confess I almost bought the sig365 but because I have other Glocks I feel it is best to stay with one brand. I greatly enjoy your videos, thanks.
