Had an intermittent problem with my trigger not returning to battery. I was on the verge of sending my G17 back to Glock. This video saved me the hassle and embarrassment. The problem was that I did not insert the cruciform trigger bar under the curved lip of the silver leaf spring in the trigger housing, but left it on top after cleaning and assembly. I bought Lenny Magill's previous Glock disassembly video a few years back and referred to it during my troubleshooting, but it had the old cruciform arrangement with the spring hooking into it as did many of the other Glock videos that I researched online. So I still had no clue what the problem was until I watched this video. This is the best instruction -- especially if you follow along. Thanks Lenny.

Thank you for taking the time to literally strip the whole gun and show how to properly take it down. I have always been nervous to take apart my lower but after seeing this I now know what to do and that it's relatively simple. Your videos are great and I appreciate how thorough you are and how well you film. Best take down video on youtube.

The trick to reinserting the slide stop lever is to compress the coil spring by inserting a small diameter punch through the slide stop lever hole in one side of the frame while pushing the slide stop in through the hole on the opposite side of the frame. This is much easier than trying to compress the coil spring from the top of the frame.

wiggling the slide release is the BEST tip. Comes out easy with just a little wiggle while you press on the pin. Just like Lenny said! Thank you Sir! 😀

Thanks! I just used this video as a guide and installed my own Black Yikes! Was going to take it to an armorer to have it done but after watching I figured I could give it a shot. The front pin on a Gen 5 is not as easy to re-install or at least I had a few minutes toil getting things lined up and the pin in, but it did go in and the pistol ops checks OK.

Very excellent teaching and modeling the assembly and disassembly of the Glock. I NEEDED this video; took mine apart to polish the trigger steel and put it together WITHOUT PUTTING THE CRUCIBLE IN THE SPRING. Didn't work well, was concerned I had messed up my brand new Gen 5 Glock 19. I don't roll with $640 I can toss, so I was concerned. This answered my question and solved my serious dilemma. Thanks Lenny!

My theory about the one pin thing is that Glock is in the process of simplifying the internals in an effort to make a single multicaliber drop-in fire control group for a major redesign in a Gen6. It would be similar to Steyr or the Sig 320 system, that way customers could buy the serialized internal, and then buy different sized 9/20/357 frames and uppers. A different trigger module would be made for the larger caliber 45 ACP, 45 Glock, and the 10mm offerings. So, potentially, you could just buy two different drop in trigger groups and have access to every single Glock model out there.
@johnnybagofdoughnuts41935 жыл бұрын
tuberaider I hear you, but I actually wonder if there is a market for it. Caliber conversions, frame changes, etc I find are more gimmick in real world than value added. You can already shoot 45 acp, 10mm, and 40 in a 21 frame, and 9mm, 40, and 357 sig on a 17 frame. The cost of a new P320 “grip module”? About $50-$70. The cost of a stripped Glock frame (only rails, serial plate and polymer shell)? About $90 dollars. Plus I can switch out trigger components easier on Glock. I’m not sure Glock has much left to improve with the release of guns like the G19 MOS FS

Lenny is hilarious! He called the magazine release spring a "roll pin" a few times. Got to take a new class. many gen 3s with parts. will have to get a separate tool box for this one. Not convinced about the barrel. Think it is more ballistic ID. I know a lot of really good shooters who cannot out shoot the stock barrel 9mm Major really have to het customer barrels.

Ok, so if anYone can answer , I would appreciate it. So I just got a glock 20 and I watched the video on oiling the glock 20. If I'm suppose to clean it before first use, what do I actually clean and how? Already everyone (including manual) says to not clean the copper off the rails on slide... but everyone (even the manual) explains it as If the gun is dirty. On barrel and bore: Should I just wipe everything down with a rag and re oil? Or should I clean with solvent then re oil? (The manual speaks of using oil, never mentions solvent) On the slide itself , should I just wipe factory set oil off as much as I can and re oil parts that need it? I'm already not even wanting to wipe the slide rails at all because of that copper, but I don't think a rag would dig that deep, do I add oil where that copper is at all?... part of me just want to think that all I should really do is clean that barrel, and the rest after It has been fired for a while. I will go find the cleaning video,.maybe its explained there. P.s. this is my first glock, so please forgive my ignorance .🇺🇸

Very informational, was doing a field strip and maintenance after the range with my brand new Glock 19 gen 5 and during reassembly I notice my ejector is lightly rubbing against a groove on the back plate and I was wondering is this normal??? not sure if it’s because of the bent shape or if it’s defective but I wanted to get some feedback before I contact Glock about it, again it’s nothing crazy just a slight concern that my ejector is slightly grazing against my back plate during assembly Thanks in advance
