Absolute lifesaver. I had a bonehead moment where I put the slide back on without the barrel or recoil spring (I don't know what I was thinking) and I quickly realized I was in a pickle. The slide wouldn't come off the lower. I googled Glock Gen 5 disassembly and this popped up, and now I know how to take apart the firing pin and safety. Thanks for the help and knowledge! Now I feel a lot more confident in my ability to fully take apart my Glock. And I did it all with a tiny flathead screwdriver.

Things were crazy in CA when I got out of the Navy in San Pedro in 1968. Glad to see nothing has changed and next generations of crazies have taken over leadership of the state. The Gen 4 Glock 17 is one of my favorite sidearms used for LEOSA qualification and range fun.

Definitely the BEST presenter of any I've seen on R/R for guns. Certainly for Glocks: Great lighting, great sound, great voice, slow and articulate speaking (TY x 2), calmly and smoothly shows each piece and part, great stories. Totally outstanding production. Had I seen Lenny before I bought my first gun, I'd've been a Glock fan for sure. Thank you!

Use tungsten disulfide (Ws2)! Dry powder, slipperiest thing on the planet, sheds carbon, bonds to metal by rubbing it on, doesn't attract dirt, doesn't come off, withstands 100,000 lbs. of force, eliminates wear. I run my guns dry with NO problems or signs of wear. Better than oil (oil attracts dirt) but if you are worried of what I say, Ws2 also blends well with oil and can be used together. I've been using it in my car's engine oil for 12 years and the engine is like brand new (no wear!!). Nasa uses Tungsten disulfide (Ws2) on the Mars rover. Great for guns! I use a short bristle 1/4 in. paint brush and a q tip to rub it on.

I really appreciate you taking the time to run these tutorials, as I find them extremely helpful. One suggestion though. May I suggest making two videos? One like this one, an extended version where you spend a lot,ore time explaining all the aspects of each piece and part, how they come together, how the parts work, etc. And the other, an edited version for those of us who are actually disassembling and reassembling along with you. I spend a lot of time forward advancing these videos in 10 second incrimenrs, simply because when we're reassembling we're trying to complete the project. The backstory to each part, the new barrels crowning, the cost of each part, etc. All of these stories tend to make the assembling and reassembling process a little more confusing. Not that the back stories aren't interesting, the small changes from generation to generation, the overnight shipping costs on small inexpensive parts that get lost easily and are expensive to have shipped overnight. Just a thought. If you edited each process, the disassembly and reassembly, slowly but steadily, you could condense both processes down into 5 minutes for each, editing down a nearly one hour video into a very helpful and to the point, 10 minute video. Just a thought.

Great informative video, just purchased a new Glock 22 Gen 5, interesting you didn't clean your new guns, the reason I do is they always come over oiled and can be a little dirty from the test shot(s) so I do it for that and also to get familiar with the new gun, like this one, i cannot remove the slide the way you demoed, i follow the same steps except after i pull the two slide locks, i pull the trigger and the slide releases, didnt realize the trigger needed to be pulled so that's why i couldnt get it to release, the video i watched before i found this channel didnt mention that

We can have any firearm and any mag capacity. And we just passed the stand your ground law. I think it's upsurd that only LEO's can own Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks but not the public. They do realize a Gen 3 can kill you just as dead then a Gen 4 or a Gen 5.

I am unable to remove slide on glock 23. Trigger is not stuck. Gunsmith had removed the plate on back pulled the striker out. He said he had to 'reposition' the recoil spring/slide rod. I guess he had to use a long, slender tool to do so. Anyway, he was able to release the slide and even did a couple times. When I arrived home I was unable to remove the slide - I have disassembled and clean this gun MANY times. I am unsure how this recoil spring gets out of position.

Is it normal for my striker or firing pin to protrude from the face when I have the slide locked to the rear? I'm able to push it back in with my finger but it seems loose. has about a 16th of an inch of room to wiggle in and out of the breach face when the slide is locked back.

Is it possible to put the firing pin safety in the wrong way. Or do the cutouts on it mean it can only go in one way? The design is different from the gen 3 I noticed. I transferred my internals to another slide and now I’m paranoid I didn’t install it properly. It does pass function check though and blocks the firing pin so I guess all G?

I was struggling for almost two hours but I finally got everything on. However as soon as I got the back plate on (which was a struggle didn’t have the best tools) the safety plunger fell out. I have it. But I’m frustrated. Am I making a rookie mistake? Do I put the extractor in first THEN the plunger? And does the plunger go in sideways? Im sorry im New at this and forgive my rookie questions.
