Lenny is definitely the best for all types of gun instruction. There's no one better on the internet.

This is a good series on basic shooting. If you are a person who has recently acquired your conceal carry permit then you need to watch all of this series and practice at the range exactly like this. For experienced shooters there is plenty of useful information here.

I never fired a handgun before, just rifles and bigger weapons. I took this info and applied it at the gun range and I got center shots the whole time I was there. I looked over to my friend and he had his whole posture and stance wrong, her shots where all over the place. Thanks Lenny, and Glock store.

Tactically, I would want to square myself forward as well due to my body armor being towards my target: versus, exposing my side, where, for most body armor, has little to no protection. Thanks for the video!

Lenny your stance is the same as mine.polymer frame absorbs better than metal frame pistol.
@Stephen615189 жыл бұрын
How does the polymer frame assist in removing recoil?
@moderngunguy36669 жыл бұрын
The polymer frame also slightly flexes which absorbs recoil
@rosaliebartholomew58129 жыл бұрын
Not sensible...polymer frame is lighter...i.e. not logical with the laws of Physics.
@brucedelagarza96417 жыл бұрын
If your stance is polymer then that defeats the whole grip session he did in episode one where he is lining up the gun with his skeletal structure in his arm to reduce recoil
@nolanwells64219 жыл бұрын
Polymer guns are lighter and that creates more recoil. The polymer also flexes and obsorbs recoil better than a metal gun that might way the same.

Makes sense...in a combat situation, you will be shooting from a walk, run, etc. Weaver is great at the range when no one is shooting back.
@StefanMiller3 жыл бұрын
You should shoot in whatever stance is better for you. Trying to remember a stance you aren't a comfortable with is just another step you have to take while every moment counts. If your life is on the line, the last thing you need to worry about is the distance between your feet.

the weaver also presents the armpit opening of body armor to your enemy. so although you present yourself as a smaller target, you have exposed your weakest place to your enemy. a good friend died in fallujah from a round entering the armpit.

Lenny: with my eyesight I need my glasses to see the sights but it makes the target blurry. Glasses off I can see target clearly, but sights are blurry. What would you recommend?

What is the red piece on the back of his slide? Looks like a charging handle almost. Is it for one handed slide manipulation?
@keeganjacobs59136 жыл бұрын
how bout elbows on your extension. Are they fully extended or do you bend them a little bit? Reason i ask is that i hear that if you fully extend them, the pistol will kick or recoil more on you vs if you had the elbows bent a little bit .

@jamiesloan59025 жыл бұрын
Your GRIP will determine your STANCE. Lenny wraps his right hand clockwise around the gun. He has no choice but to shoot in a semi-Weaver stance. You MUST come around the gun counter-clockwise with your right hand, to effectively use the isosceles stance. All of you "good" shooters understand what I'm saying. Your pistol has to naturally point at your target. Your grip , and stance must be connected in that way, or you'll find yourself FORCING the gun towards the target.

1:41 that comment about bodyweight controlling the gun might mean something if you were shooting something other than say a 9mm. 1:57 the instructor goes on to say that 9mm, 45 are not huge recoiling guns... yet again his audience is supposed to be new shooters, so when you consider the difference between 9mm and 45, the difference is significant. And no, a polymer frame doesn't decrease recoil... you don't even have to be smart to understand that he's totally lieing right there. If he's trying to say the plastic's elasticity reduces the recoil (lol), then trivially it must affect the gun's accuracy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXfVZpaZrtecgKs 6:12 says the guy who has never been in a gunfight... and why do I say that? Because there is no anecdote from a real life experience. If you enjoy learning from the assumptions of a douchebag, then I'm ok with it. Suit yourself.

Hard to take him serious when he doesn't know the difference between Isosceles, Weaver, Chapman, modified Weaver etc.

Stick with gun videos, to me these are a waste of time. Way too much elementary, for adults. Working on guns the videos are great, but these are funny, for kids, not adults.
