Always love watching your reviews, even when the game doesn't interest me too much. Short, concise, informative, well written, with (relevant!) footage of the game as you talk about it, and there are helpful timestamps. It's a very different style than the majority of board game youtube, really enjoying it!

Hey thank you, I really try to make content that I wish there was more of out there. I really appreciate the in depth stuff and the funny stuff and the stuff covering ALL THE GAMES, but something blending concise overview and honest subjective opinion seems less common. Just trying to fill a niche and work with what I got. Glad it’s appreciated!

Got my copy yesterday and these are exactly my feelings! I wish the cards laid flatter for sure, but even after the first scenario I could tell this is such a faithful representation of the main games, and I’m really enjoying it!

As someone that hasn’t played Gloomhaven, this video could really have benefited from a gameplay overview.

I totally get what you’re saying Kalahan, but I try to stick to only giving as much context as needed for my thoughts on the game to make sense. Not saying gameplay overviews aren’t valuable, but other people do that far better than me and I generally find that a dedicated how to play or playthrough is far more thorough for those purposes. Just got my copy yesterday of this game! I have a work trip the next 2 weeks and will bring this and compare it to Tony Epic Quest (which I also have yet to play) and Set a Watch (also not yet played). Not really sure they are direct comparisons but I am sure I will have an enjoyable time regardless!

I enjoy all three! Though if I were to hold onto any one as far as dungeon delving solo satisfaction goes, it’d probably be Buttons & Bugs, maaaaaaaaybe Set a Watch since it’s so unique. Fortunately all 3 are small and fairly different approaches to familiar concepts so I don’t feel bad about having all 3 in my collection.

I saw this being demoed at PAX today, and it was just such a fascinating concept, that for $20 I couldn't resist. While the card quality hit is a bummer, and I wouldn't hate the idea of having a more expensive "premium quality" version, I think from a business standpoint, going with a lower physical quality and keeping the cost of this down to practically an impulse buy makes sense.

Card quality has been a big issue for Cephalofair. Their QC is really poor.
