Rico wasn't in his prime either. He respects his oponents to much. He always says that he wants to bring his oponents until at least the fourth or fifth round. And he always says he wants his oponents to go back home to their family without any form of bad injury. So he is different. So he takes it a bit easy, even when he gets aggressive in a fight, he can easily change his emotions. For that, look up: "Guto vs Innocente". In the fourth round, Guto sweeps Rico. Rico gets a bit aggressive. From that moment he could have destroyed Guto, but the bell saved Guto. Guto makes a smart move imo. He hugs Rico after the bell, and Rico continued the fifth round to win the match eventually on points. Many people forget that. Rico vs Badr 2. You can see Badr and his team used that technique too. I think they analysed some recent matches from Rico. Also Badr said it himself that he underestimated Rico in the first fight. He was very disrespectful towards Rico in the first press conference from their first fight. Walked away, instead of doing a staredown. The second fight, they both had some trash talk like always, but there's also a vid from a weight in or something, where Badr hugged Rico. They also touched gloves before the fight and during the beginning of each round. No disrespect to Badr. Because Badr is Legend. How many KO'S he has is insane. Plus his rematches were 9 wins out of 10 back in the day.

The thing is Rico is the Glory Champion for so many years. Unbeaten for 12 matches in the last 5 years. Rico s career pinnacle doesn't revolve around beating somebody like Aerts. On the other hand Badr was never capable to win a relevant title. Back in the days the goal was K1 World GP and Badr always failed to win it. Now a days it s Glory, and Bodr can t touch that either. It s so sad that for Badr Hari beating Aerts is all he has, it became the pinnacle of his career. And let s remember a 25 yers old Badr Hari fought a 39 years old Aerts.

Ricos problem is that he looses control and situational adaption when being pressed by punches. That's why he never really lets his hands go. A LeBanner was technical inferior but under fire always stayed cool and would turn fights in seconds. Rico only trusts his kicks. A very good fighter but the prime guys from the 90s would all beat him
