So true... and that oxygen makes up air, which is what wind is comprised of. No one has ever seen the wind. We see it's effects, or what it carries, but wind itself cannot be seen. Yet no one doubts it's existence. No one can see God... but we see what He's done and who He's carried... for me and my house, we have no doubts in Him.

I'm a former church leader and I feel so lost I was made redundant no fault of my own I had to reinvent my entire life I feel so disillusioned by church the truth is apart from the payout they gave me I have sorted my life out with no prayer and no help from Christians so tell me is it really true or we just make it up I still admire Jesus Christ and his teachings but have we not made religion about money and buildings and Status rather than just about real and Powerful life-changing spiritual god-given truly experiences of his holy spirit
@o-o68942 жыл бұрын
I know this reply is late yet I feel the need to say. Yes, the human factor will also come into anything humans are involved in. That does not detract from what and who God is: good, love. Often we can become disenchanted when we see what humans have made religion into and we feel like we're all alone in truly yearning for God himself not his works... But remember what God said to Elijah. There are so many more children of God who have not bowed to Baal. Christianity is a solo work. No matter what people are doing or saying, you must work out *your own salvation*. The best you can do with other people is take succor in the fact that, like Elijah, you are not alone in your yearning for the Holy spirit of God.
@ianwhitham9402 жыл бұрын
Gosh I wrote that months ago so much has happened to me since then. Interesting you talk about Elijah because he is someone I have liking myself to or the Apostle Peter In the past. I have had to go through a lot of stuff and work a lot of things out myself I have found this time out from Christian ministry an opportunity to study and read and reflect and whilst I wouldn't say I'm not there yet (but I don't think any of us ever will be) I find myself in a better place I am no longer angry or bitter. Me and God are talking again and I have just started to attend a church again I have also been in contact with a bishop who is going to meet me for coffee to talk about the possibility of going back into Christian ministry. I feel my journey of pain and exploration of myself and my faith will be a great asset to future Christian ministry I may have - but thank you for coming back to me perhaps a timely response
@o-o68942 жыл бұрын
@@ianwhitham940 wow, fantastic! I am so glad. How else can a minister relate with the experiences of his sheep if he has not worked through the same process himself? Having been there yourself, I pray that God uses you to help his children who feel lost to find their way back to Him. God bless!
@ianwhitham9402 жыл бұрын
@@o-o6894 thank you I found myself weeping tonight as I watch chosen and the woman at the well but what was going through my mind was I just want Jesus to be real not something I read in the bible or theology tells me about but just real and present
@o-o68942 жыл бұрын
@@ianwhitham940 Oh, He is. Things become clearer when we realise that it is not in man to yearn after God. As they say, the heart of man is desperately wicked. That yearning that you feel is not even a product of self, but a manifestation of God's spirit working in you already. God is already present in your yearning, shedding His love abroad in your heart. I'll bet that God has been revealing Himself to you in little ways. A lot of times, weare searching for grand manifestations but God wasn't in the fire or earthquake, He was in the silence (the still small voice). He is the quiet voice that made a scripture you had seen a billion times suddenly come alive with new meaning that no one explained to you. And i have found that beyond those grand manifestations, it is really the little interactions that make me absolutely certain that God is alive and God is good.
