Soldiers Getting Ready Night Before Battle in "Glory," 1989. This is the BEST war movie scene in the past twenty years. Shows the spirit and character of Black Men.

@@dr.lecter9795 Actually Denzel did win for best supporting actor in this movie. Although I think that Morgan Freeman is actually the more involved supporting actor he was already nominated the same yr for best actor in driving miss daisy so he couldn't be nominated twice in a year. I think it's interesting how Trip is this loud, boisterous soldier, but when he has to speak, but he offers just a few words and isn't as confident as he thinks he is.

Nobody owns people. We are a nation of individual people. That is problematic right there, claiming everyone like we slave. That mentalty hold folks back. This scene is not that message. I'm black and native. This an American People scene. In the end, Trip did it for God and America. Not Shaw. Oh, Shaw was based too in that scene. My top 10 of all films.

Unfortunately they fought for a cause that would not be appreciated. Abolishing slavery was a major mistake. America & Europe were meant to remain as white ethnostates. Multiculturalism is destroying America’s core, white identity. This country will decline and collapse as it becomes less white. A lot of people don’t realize this, but it’s the cold hard truth.

In the times of slavery, coloured males were either called "boy" or "pops", depending on their age, but they were never "men". Hence why Denzel's character emphasises the "we're men" phrase. They feel, finally, equal.

One of the subtle developments in this movie is Jupiter learning to read. At first he can’t read and Thomas happily offers to teach him how to read. Theres a scene in the middle where Jupiter is reading (the bible I think) bit by bit. Here he has clearly learned a lot within a short time and quotes the book.

Trip, in his signifying, comes around to the dressing down he got from Rawlins, when Rawlins said, "If there're any _______ around here it's YOU," and, "we're going to have to pitch in like men! Like MEN!" This has clearly been on Trip's mind. He says here, "We men, ain't we."
