There is a weird meta-story between this and Angus McSIX. New Angus (in univsrse) is trying to break away from what was laid before him (By old Angus) and forge a separate destiny, and in reality is also trying to add his own identity as a musician as he's a different performer to the previous one. Winkler's song is very unsubtly a break up song about the band, where he says he'll be better without them. Both are about people trying to forge their own identity in a way, moving away from what was to find new heights. The Gloryhammer song wasn't meant to be meta but in a weird way it works.
@flyingpiggys Жыл бұрын

@@dreadwitchqueen This is simply not true. Gloryhammer has never released anything official that states that Thomas' angus still exists or time travelled. Angus McFife XIII died at the end of the third album, and with him, Thomas' portrayal of the character as Angus McFife died as well. You can like Angus McSix, that's perfectly fine, but let's not pretend that it's somehow still a part of Gloryhammer even just in story. It's not, Winkler is done as Angus McFife. Upon rewatch, one thing I like about the singing voice for this Angus is that he isn't trying to emulate Winkler's Angus I or XIII, he seems to have a softer tone, especially in that intro. I wonder if that will feature also in the characterizations of each character -- Angus I and XIII were noble-hearted but delighted in the thrill of combat and conquest, whereas this Angus (I've been told he's the V?) may be a bit more of a reluctant hero, longing instead for a more peaceable and serene time. If absolutely necessary, however, he seems willing to fight and die nonetheless, though yearning always for the "land of freedom and light" where he might rest.
