That will be because he is MoD trained and is providing security to one of the most important buildings to the establishment. Lockheed Martin Cyber Works, Barnwood Square, Barnett Way, Gloucester - perimeter security upgrade underway in September 2016, showing the bomb blast-proof gatehouse under construction. Definitely a good guard though!

For everyone interested this is part of Colo-x. It’s the main data centre for GCHQ and other Government Intelligence . There is another building behind this which is the data centre for BT Openreach, Colt, Western Power and Century Link. This building is specific for government intelligence. Best bet is it’s separate from the other building for security reasons. Hope this helped anyone out who didn’t know or was interested. I live in Gloucester and this building always interested me so I did some digging and found that out

My initial thoughts were that this was probably a data hub. Cop said he was concerned for he's safety when there was literally a bus stop a few yards down. It's also not a very fast road as the plod suggested as the national speed limit applies after exiting the roundabout ahead so I would asume it's a 40 mph zone. They weren't just going to Sainsburys. They were sent there.

The reason there is no signage is that the premises were sold off in 2015 so it was removed. Indectron bought the site. A 2 minute google got me that and more aboit the place.

That security guard knows more than he's letting on. He has definitely had a decent level of education and is trained to not give anything away. As for the officers, I'm pretty sure they would have been called by Shane or someone else. They're pretty good at deflecting questions about the site too. I'd say it's some sort of MOD / MI5 building, specially with that level of security. Even those huge gates looked mechanical / electric. Good job AB, Shane and the officers.

My first guess would have been GCHQ. I once delivered some steel roofing to a new cyber security centre being built near Hull. The walls were made from 1 metre thick reinforced ‘blue’ concrete which had to be poured in one go, and the guy said the queue of trucks delivering it went on for miles because it is so dense. When I got there they were in the process of disguising it as a ‘regular office building’. The guy who was setting up the IT was on £250 p/hour!

That’s Ministry of Defence police car, identified by the crest on the car door. Gloucester, Bath, Bristol area is full of U.K. and US government organisations. Security Service and armed military response personnel used to react to serious threats to U.K. intelligence and security have been known to use BT (openreach) livery vehicles. Had you been ID as a serious target you may have ended up in the back of that van pretty quickly.....
