It might depend on how many (or few) counts are pled against the speedy trial defendants. This is a large case with tons of evidence overall. However, the preparation might require less preparation if not all the evidence needs to be introduced against these particular defendants.

Delays delay a potential bad, a losing trial. With delay, people can forget, get into trouble or disappear. The defense loves delay almost as much as sympathy.
