Nice review. I have one question, if you don't mind. You showed that you pulled that little round piece of vinyl off the center rod. I have some little beauty dish disks from other modifiers. Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to put one of those on this modifier? Does the center rod protrude far enough to do that?

Hey! I didn't end up keeping it. The rigid inner diffuser didn't really work with my traveling style. There are smaller reflector discs (shown @3:30) that seem like they're designed to be a reflector disc so that you can use the modifier as a beauty dish. But, if you like the one you've got with other modifiers, I know the rod sticks out about 10-20 millimeters from the locking mechanism. The only thing I don't know is the diameter of the rod. My guess is that if anything, this modifier's rod would be smaller than the hole of the reflector disc you're wanting to use. If it is, you may be able to keep your disc affixed to this modifier via rubber bands or rubber o-rings one can find at a local hardware store.

@@austinlindsay Thanks for the reply. That rigid inner disk is the thing that's preventing me from ordering this, though I'd love the narrower profile of the Godox mount.

Yea. I think if they changed just that part. It would be an amazing modifier.

My softbox and speed light bit the dust recently, so i've been looking into new options! Might look more into this one, but ive been eyeing the ad200. This seem super similar to my aperture light dome mini ii.

The Glow series is the more affordable Aperture. I've always wanted to test the two actually. I'll keep you posted on this one though. I"ve got a shoot coming up I"m going to try it out on.
