In fact, some folks who remain in a sticks and bricks are looking for the very same thing that is missing ftom their lives and don't realize it.

Hi Carol, and it's always wonderful to catch your youtube uploads. I started watching a few years ago, sold my house and RVed almost 2 years...I decided to try working at Amazon Camperforce, and that went okay. So I traveled north to NW Minnesota to work camp. They paid my housing and I love it here. I recently sold my RV and rent a house paid by my employer. There are hundreds of us up here, mostly van lifers making a few extra bucks. I'm 62, but MANY older than me are here too! Anyway, I feel purpose is revealed as much as it is found. That heartache of wanting real purpose in our lives is part of being alive. I am planning tent camping trips for late summer and will continue to love the outdoors. Thanks for inspiring us to stretch ourselves beyond what is easy and comfortable.

Carol, I am mentally & emotionally...& trained to "help" others. I want to do that on the road. For several years I have wanted to work (remotely) with HOWA! Their MISSION is amazing- and I fully believe in, & respect what they do. The barrier is my spinal condition (for now!) where I can go for DAYS without even being able to sit up. Anyway, good topic!

I think you need to continue to find your purpose throughout your life stages & phases. I think you need to have or be open to having multiple purposes & not put all of your eggs in 1 basket & then have that basket taken away from you & be devastated instead of pivoting to something else or new. I think you need to get to know yourself by trying things & seeing how you like them.

I completely agree. We can absolutely have changing purposes at different stages of.our life as we grow and have different life experiences.

I've been researching van life for years, since I love the outdoors and tolerate heat pretty well. My main issue has always been parking. I wish there were more free parking options, since many Walmarts don't allow overnight anymore. I also have to stick to Midwest states due to too many fires farther west, due to my asthma. I have always taken good care of my vehicles, so I think I'd be ok that way too. I'd have to get some kind of solar for power. Constantly looking for parking, unless it was a campground that allowed longer stays, would be the challenge for me. I don't mind being in a isolated area. But I don't want cops knocking on my door at night either. I wish the parking options were better in my part of the country. All the BLM land is out west.

Yes, parking is a challenge. You might check Boondockers welcome, a membership group. They typically allow folks to park in driveways for a day or two. But I have come across some rural properties that I think might allow for a longer reasonable cost option. Also, Hipcamp, same thing. Might offer lower prices for longer stays at some locations. I can see your point of view, but in her live talks, she is also acknowledging her viewers/ attendees. I think of it as working the table around a topic.....my pastor was also quite good at this and effective communication. If you just want straight messaging, the live videos might not be your cup of tea. Happy and safe travels to you, my friend.
