I know that a lot of people are complaining about the fragrance and I have sensitive skin to, but if you look at other brands like tatcha, they also contain fragrance (and alcohol) no hate though, love the silk canvas primer. This brand has the clean at sephora stamp which I think means that there is less than 1% of fragrance (and for all we know that frangrance is 100% natural) so I just wanted to put that out there for anyone who is hesitant.
@maggiebattersby16844 жыл бұрын
@queen a I wasn't trying to be ignorant, I'm sorry if you thought I was being ignorant. My point in writing this comment was just to show how we shouldn't bash a brand for using fragrance when there are other brands that use an even higher concentration of it and get praised for the quality of their products. That's all I meant by this comment. I understand that fragrance can be irritating (I have sensitive skin) but my aim in this comment was not to promote fragrance (especially synthetic and toxic).

@Glowrecipe5 жыл бұрын
Hi Yuran, thanks for asking. We strongly believe in a total sensorial experience when using skincare. Less than 0.5% of a gentle fragrance blend was included in the formula to enhance the sensorial experience of some of our products. As it's important to us that even the most sensitive of skin types will be able to use this formula with great results, we went to great lengths to make sure that none of the components would be sensitizing or irritating. We've also been given the 'Clean @ Sephora' seal certifying our products are free of harmful irritants. For a completely fragrance-free experience check out the Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask or the entire Sweet Chef Skincare line. 💕

Glow Recipe I love your claim there are so many studies claiming that fragrance can lead to an allergic reaction or development when I looked into your ingredients I noticed there is barely any fragrance so it is very unlikely for someone to actually be irritated by this obviously if you’re supersensitive and you have bad eczema and bad acne Obviously you shouldn’t use this but for the most cases this works for everyone love glow recipe ❤️
@klove202315 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. Fragrance is the one of bad ingredients that irritate our skin. We all know that it is true. But we tend to choose the wrong products because of marketing. They want to sell the products with nice smell. Sometimes it is hard to resist when it smells nice. but we need to educate ourselves first and avoid any skincare products containing fragrance. Good skincare is based on science not marketing.

I actually agree and can relate with the saying "your stress level is reflected on your skin" because 3 years ago I got a really bad acne on my face. Note that I have been very blessed with a good skin and have never had acne that much and that intense all my life. It was really bad to the point I never want to get my photo taken during that time. I realised that it really do was a very stressful time for me because that was the time when I was working on my thesis, going through a very unhealthy relationship, having to deal with family problems, having to deal with my mental illness, and the student organisations that I was a part of is really just adding the burden on my mind and my skin. It's just a reminder for all the people here that it's okay to make mistakes, and it's okay not to be perfect all the time. I actually put too much stress on myself because I don't want to be called a failure. I also what to remind people that it's okay to take a break. Also, leave behind any toxic relationship, I know it is not easy, I really do know.

I like to use a soft wash cloth during my cleanse to just very gently splash and gently wipe away the cleanser while the cloth is soaking wet. And then wring the wash cloth of the water and then use that to dab dry the droplets of water on my face and then quickly apply my first serum or essence or toner, while skin is damp but not dripping wet.
@klove202315 жыл бұрын
full of marketing...You dont need too many products for good skin. Always less is more. Skincare diet is very big trend in Korea at the moment as many people are irritating their skin by applying too many products. Also over using mist is not good as your skin gets more dry. We need only 3 step in healthy skincare. Clean your face with low pH cleanser 5.5 then hydrate your skin with low pH hydrating toner, then moisturiser for your skin type. I don't advise face sheet mask in single plastic package which became serious problem for environment. We all need to be wiser consumers for the planet and our skin.❤
@ariesmry5 жыл бұрын
karen hong I appreciate this perspective. I personally don’t think that skincare is all that complicated, but because many people would rather focus on products than their diet and health, and heavy make-up is a trend, we’ve managed to create more skincare issues, which in our mind, require more products. There is a part of me that thinks that if it requires 5-10 different products for a nightly routine, then the products as a stand alone aren’t of high quality. If you need two separate cleansers to wash your face. then it seems like one of those cleansers isn’t doing its job properly. Alot of products also seems very gimmicky adding buzzwords and references to extracts and vitamins that may or may not be truly effective in the product (like the vitamin C product in clear packaging). I hope we can get to a place where it’s more about using effective products and less about using more products. It’s the quality of the products, not the amount of steps, that make a good skincare routine.
@Glowrecipe5 жыл бұрын

It is probably because with the water your skin already feels hydrated even for a split second, and the moisture is absorbed from your surroundings if you live in a dry climate..You should use a drop or two of some oil(I use squalene which is not comedogenic) to seal everything in:)
@Glowrecipe5 жыл бұрын
Hi! Just like a slightly damp sponge will absorb more than a dry sponge, hydrated skin will absorb more hydration. I don’t know what Rowena was eating at 19:33 but it looks really good and I want it 😂

I believe you’re doing great, your chanel is just heading to the right way. You blew my mind with your references lol, You used Wakanda and The lord of the rings to explain skin barriers. Also Row using Spanish is awesome. I like you both use skin care products and a healthy life as a way to treat your skin. Congrats Rowina and Felicia, you both and your team are doing such a great job and I really enjoy watching u.

So what products would you recommend from this brand for oily acne prone skin?
@lauraliekay94315 жыл бұрын
Cheyanne Lindsay That’s what I’ve been wondering
@emilylai88325 жыл бұрын
I think the idea is that a lot of oily skin is dehydrated so maybe adding hydration will help regulate the oils?
@Glowrecipe5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, Cheyanne! For oily skin, the entire 🍉 line is ideal. Lightweight, noncomedogenic formulas that won't inflame breakouts or make your skin feel more oily. We especially love the Watermelon Sleeping Mask for acne-prone skin because it contains exfoliating acids. Remember to wear SPF each day!

Hi Beauty Within, I'm just curious if the sleeping mask can "go bad"...mine has kind of separated. Can I just mix it back together?
@BeautyWithin4 жыл бұрын
it separates sometimes! doesn’t mean it’s bad, packaging says just mix with spatula or shake shake shake 🥳 -Ro
