The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system kzbin.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.

I got the Pro and only thing i would have done different is not have purchased the Air Filter System/Box It's an extra $1000 and the filters clog up in a matter of months and are $250!! So once the filter got clogged the first time I purchased an AC Infinity in line fan and vent out my basement window. Works great. Thanks for the Vid.

Great vid as always. I saw a hack about that acrylic smell. When u lay ur acrylic in the bed place a piece of scrap wood in their too. In the GF process make your last step to engrave a small square in that scrap wood. It will then be the overwhelming smell when you open up that door and hide the plastic smell.

May I ask how that could work if you use the force sheet of acrylic because I understand and you’re absolutely right when you’re using that say 80% of the bed with acrylic but when you have a full sheet of acrylic how could you make that hack work thank you

@@juan2617 obviously depends on the project. If you have space then a small piece works. I personally rarely have a fresh piece in the machine. Its usually a piece with many projects cut from it. But if you can use that tip for half your projects then half your projects won't smell. Without it 100% of your projects will smell.

I bought the basic version about two years ago. It is the single best tool I’ve ever had. My first laser was a $359 Chinese 40 watt machine. That one helped me climb the learning curve to understand what a laser could do AND helped me determine what I wanted from a laser. After looking at many options I was floored to come across the Glowforge. It was - and is - the best laser for my needs. Performance, versatility and quality are spectacular. The price makes it stand alone in its market slot. Wish you’d been doing videos when I was looking for my first laser. I’ve made some amazing things with my machine and I keep learning. Hey Troy! You mentioned smell as being a huge issue. I noticed in my house, the AC picks up the smell and distributes it through the house. I upgraded my filter to a filtrete 2500 and that just about eliminated the smells from lingering and disbursing through the house. Also, you could hook up one of these filters to a box fan and get, effectively, an air purifier for your Glowforge room.

Great video Troy, been looking at these for a while and so far I haven't heard a bad thing about them. I work mainly with leather and would love to have one of these to maybe cut patterns out.
