I bought version 3.0 and now regret it as it is missing a vital feature. Find out more about the light, especially in comparison to its predecessor Indoor Everywhere Light 2.0.

It was filmed on an iPhone 13 and Panasonic GH5 under normal lighting conditions.

Thank you for this great review! I was about to make a purchase. I realized quickly that these were not from NY. Or they were distributed via a NY importer. The lack of detailed technical info on the web site is usually telling... charge time and duration being a very important consideration for me. Appreciate you taking the time. Cheers!

I just received my version 3 and it has all 3 modes. I was disappointed after reading your post however charged the new light and the eco night mode does work. So happy it does as I really wanted it for night time. Maybe they have now updated the version 3 to include this mode.

Thanks for the review of the Glowright 3.0 lights. I wish I had seen it before I ordered six of them. I agree that the clips are insubstantial, the magnets are rather weak, and the charge doesn’t last. Further the lights aren’t bright enough, making them inadequate for under-cabinet use, except as nightlights. I’m disappointed. AND out over 150 bucks. 😢

Thanks for posting this, I was actually going to get 3.0 after getting NINE 2.0's. I'm somewhat happy with them, but I don't think I'm using them 'properly' as I have a 7 of them as under valence lighting (under cabinets). I should probably actually utilize the ECO mode instead of the standard motion detection mode as I find I need to charge them close to once a week. Half the time they do turn on now I have my regular pot lights on and the extra light the GlowRight's provide is just looking but not absolutely necessary. That being said, I am in total agreement with you as I wish the 3.0's had that eco feature as the pro's you've listed for them almost made me get them. I'll continue using the 2.0's and hopefully they'll integrate the best of both into version 4.0 soon.

You should definitely try the eco mode. Even in busy areas mine seem to last at least two weeks.

I have just received my 3.0 version that is supposed to have 3 settings however it is either on or off controlled by the button, no sensor works at all. Brilliant review though.

Totally agree I had V2 and V3 and the V3 was basically equivalent of doorstop - my V2's still going strong I only charge them once a year - the V3's last 3 weeks and I've given up on them .

What's the difference between motion mode & motion energy mode. There are 3 modes, not two 1st continuous mode, 2.motion mode. 3. Motion energy mode. Sugesstion include extra clips to compensate ones that need replacing from relocation. A few of them are failing from the cabinet. I'm having an issue with a few not sticking long enough.

Apparently the newer version of the 3.0s do have it. They really should have called them 4.0 or at least 3.5 to show the difference.

Interesting. I emailed them about the different modes for 3.0, and they replied it has been recently upgraded and has 3 modes - 'Stay-on mode (you can switch it on/off manually when needed)'. 'All-time motion sensor mode (detecting movement regarding of the surrounding lighting)' and 'Energy-saving motion sensor mode (only detecting movement in darkness)'. So did they listen to you or have they made a mistake in their reply to me?

If the upgraded version includes the eco-mode that would be great - and means they are listening to customer feedback. I have seen other customers complaining about it. I've just now checked the support page and you are right - it does now include "Energy Motion Mode" (glowright.co/pages/support-indoor-everywhere-light-3). Although in the FAQ at the lower part of the page only includes the two modes under lighting modes. So there is clearly some confusion. So if accurate then the key question is whether those of us with the earlier versions of the 3.0 can do a firmware upgrade to include this ""Energy Motion Mode"? As my 6 x 3.0 lights only last a few days - and although the separate battery helps I would rather it only worked when required! Please do let us know if your lights arrive and this "Energy Motion Mode" function works.

I received the 11inch 3.0 glow right light yesterday. I tried it out last night & it DOES have the 3rd option of the eco-motion sensor. Maybe yours was faulty!

The new versions of 3.0 seem to have the feature restored, but it was not in the original version. A bad mistake. But at least they have listened to customer feedback and restored it.

For my experience these days, I have a little different thought on the 3.0 (maybe it's because mine have the eco mode) 1. The battery life of the 3.0 is not bad (at least in my usage scenario and turn on the eco mode). The units I put on the stairs haven't got the second charge yet after the initial use which was a week ago. Will keep eyeing on them to see how the batter life going. 2. For the lights that I put in my kitchen which is a much more frequently usage, I charge them after about 5 days. But since I also bought the separate batteries, I just need to connect the backup batteries to the lights and they will keep working. This is a great option that I didn't realize how convenient it was. So my lights can always keep working with just a couple of backup batteries. 3. The magnets seem stable enough in my usage. I guess the reason why they change the 2.0's long magnet strip to the 3.0's two little pieces is for easier clean up if you want to peel the plates off your wall, because the 3.0's metal places take much less space. But certainly, it needs to be as strong as the 2.0's long magnet strip. Fortunately they are still stable now. I will update if anything happens. 4. The lighting is bright and looks good on eyes. I don't have the 2.0, but I have other old lights bought from Amazon. The glowright 3.0 just looks much more "expensive" for the color temp, the diffusion, and the overall looking.

That is good news for consumers if they have now upgraded 3.0 to have eco mode. I wonder if it is possible to do a firmware upgrade or whether they have changed the actual design.

@@ryanyu5051 Thanks for this! The light from my 3.0s is definitely less bright than the 2.0. But an additional problem I am having is that the microwave motion sensor is way too sensitive - it can detect movement in the next room through closed doors! This means that one of the lights I am changing the battery almost every day compared to over a month for the 2.0s! You are right that the 3.0 looks more expensive but I think the 2.0 lights are still better overall.

To clarify - the sit on magnet strips to frequently taken on and off so may not always be perfectly aligned. The wide angle lens used to show all three lights at once on the stair may exaggerate what appears to be misalignment but they look straight to the eye in person. I am quite particular about things like that.
