That being said I like this new Geras. He is not only a trustworthy ally for Liu but also kind of reminds me of a strict grandfather when dealing with the other characters. Now that is truly fascinating, a keeper before kronika. Since the hourglass is what maintains existences it makes sense that a keeper is needed to preserve as well as protect their vision. OMG! In mk11 Geras intros has always shown resurrecting himself from the dead and some of his victory poses shown him causing harm to himself and regenerating. In MK1 hes he falls into a pile of sand or just summin an hourglass, in MK11 he was depressed due to Kronika and wished he would die and caused harm to himself. Omg he truly is happy in mk1 😢

Remember how he was introduced in his trailer. Kronika used him like a weapon, throwing him at whatever problem until it went away, no matter how many times he died in the process. Liu Kang sees him more as a friend and Partner.

Seeing so many former baddies become good as a result of them having a choice, shows that the worst thing to happen in the last two timelines was Shao becoming the emperor.

Mmmm, NOT sure you CAN call Shao evil. He still seeks to do what he considers to be best for Outworld. He was corrupted by Titan Shang Tsung into believing that was getting rid of Sindel... but he still shows SOME respect for anyone strong enough to best him. Plus in the last chapter, if he' s the one scaling the pyramid, he gives Kitana a genuine compliment. That, and he's willing to allow just about aNYONE into his army, so long as they can fight, specifically stating that he takes in those the empire leaves in the cracks. He even allowed a vampire into his ranks! (Intro to Nitara, he had her mother in his army at one point!) Just about the only race he detests is the Kytinn. (Of Outworld, at least. He doesn't hate Earthrealm, he distrusts them. Big difference. He never talks of invading, merely intending to make sure they don't invade!)

I can’t help but laugh. Since a lotta the characters are fleshed out, somewhat reasonable, or straight up good guys in this game there isn’t a ton of vitriol in some of these dialogues. So someone will ask Geras a perfectly normal question and he just bashed their head in with a sand tombstone 😂
