I got huge Mandela effect rewatching the original scene. I could have sworn they had a hat scene in Raiders but maybe it started with Temple during the roof spikes scene xD However, I gotta say the scene works so much better with the hat. Feels like how it should’ve been

It looks a bit... stiffy and janky in comparison of the movie. Especially on the actor part. The rest of the game-cutscenes look way more natural, because they don't have to copy a preexisting performance.

Temple of Doom is already a prequel. This game takes place between Raiders and Crusade. Minor spoilers but this sequence is a dream Indy has at the start of the game (I guess this moment and Marian haunt him or something). I only played this level so I don't know anything else about potential flashbacks or anything else.

@@OwocowyMr definitely worth a revisit with that knowledge. It makes sense too since Indy is all about Fortune and Glory instead of "it belongs in a museum". The last crusade intro has a younger Indy that's still noble but we know Indy and Abner eventually have a falling out over something. I always assumed it was over Abner's daughter and Indy becoming obsessed with Fortune and Glory. But Indy becomes noble again at the end of Temple of Doom

I think the idol is supposed to be solid gold, and gold has a crazy density. It might be possible in the game for all I know, but realistically it shouldn't because a bag of sand is never going to have the same weight as a block of gold if they're the same size

I've often wondered this... Indy guesstimated the weight of the idol, as it's existence was only rumoured, hence he got the weight wrong and the tomb caved in. Too bad the Hovitos didn't know Belloq like Indy did.

@@spookymiller5017 You have an opportunity to examine the idol again later in the game, and it is described as being "deceptively light", which is why the pressure plate triggered. Indy assumed it'd be heavier than it was based on its appearance, and left too much sand in the bag.

Even if it was rendered in real time it still is "Computer Generated Imagery". Only if they haven't modeles/composed anything with a computer (like the original for obvious reasons), it atill is CGI.
