Now that Halo 5 has been enhanced by the Xbox One X, we decided to redo it and record in full 4K and 60 frames per second. We decided not to use subtitles for this one because we wanted to really capture the cinematic feel to it. The lack of subtitles also allowed us to do much more creative transitions. First comes good gameplay and 2nd comes other points of immersion like story, characters and world building. And it's not looking too great on those first two sadly. There's a lot of pandering and fan service which I appreciate to some extend but it introduces nothing new which is very disappointing. It even brings the other first generation Spartans from the books and does nothing with them which reveals them to be entirely for fan service as well. And then it leaves on a very B tier cliff hanger as well... Not sure what to think of this.. On a positive note, the initial mystery was setup very well. And the AIs being treated as 2nd rate citizens is a really cool point of contention. I loved the AI Mayor. And Sanghelios was cool to see but it didn't seem plot critical at all either. But then Cortana revealing herself as a cereal box villain plunges all that down again. Someone like me who has read most of the books and played all the games... this is very disappointing. But ye... graphics look deec 🤣

Could have and should have. It would have take all of Osiris team to try and take him and they still would have lost. Spartan II’s were unmatched by any other Spartans after them. Morality aside, it was acknowledged that there was no replacement for creating super soldiers from the age of 6. Besides, by this point, chief had already gone up against the worst the covenant could deal out. Hunters, elites, brutes. Not to mention the Flood and promethians. He’d saved the damn galaxy multiple times. No way anyone or anything could come close to beating him in 1 v 1 hand to hand combat. That scene made no sense.

I think the biggest flaw was the advertisement for the game vs what actually happened, after coming back and watching this over again to me it seems more “okay” then the first playthrough. I applaud 343 for being bold and bringing in newer characters and making Cortana the new threat, But even halo 2 had more Chief in it than this one. Another bummer for me is that I don’t read the books so jumping from game to game is a bit harder to understand certain things in the story, so it would be nice if a youtuber mad a vid explaining the inbetweens.

Okay, people bitched and moaned about this campaign, but I personally don’t see what all the fuss is about. The only time I have personally seen Locke's character used in the halo continuity other than halo 5 was halo nightfall. A less than reputable movie where Locke and his squad of odst's are sent to the alpha halo. And the whole plot of that movie irked me. It felt nothing like halo, and the acting was subpar. No disrespect to the actors though. The enemies were a neat concept. Them being a race of insects which can s ense the presence of technology (which all their weapons cant function without for whatever reason.).

Few things i lothe about this.. The chief goes from feeling like an all powerful superman level ability where in the other games everyone is amazed just to see him. to just another one of the boys in halo 5 The other Spartans doing everything the chief can do makes the chief feel less. You gotta spend so much of the game hunting the chief which you don't want to. Cortana is evil...undoing all the camaraderie of the other halo games. The spartan squads feel like rainbow 6 or something. Rather than one man kicking ass. Graphics were kinda cool.

Did you not like Halo Reach? I'm curious why you have this idea that MC needs to be this Mary Sue God. Do you murder all the marines in every mission? Because they are always very helpful and negate you from being a solo badass. The reality is that Spartans aren't sent out solo most of the time, they usually have teams like in Reach. And Blue Team is a huge deal, we have not seen them in the games at all up to this point, despite them being MCs team and some of the closest people he has to family. Do you think Chief is the best Spartan? He isn't. I understand not wanting to hunt Chief, but a better criticism is just not playing enough as Chief. Same goes with the Spartan team gameplay-wise. Reach rarely put you will all of Noble Team, and often had solo missions. Cortana going rogue absolutely doesn't ruin the friendship prior. @lucassmith3790 na I think halo reach is shit. In the earlier games, Master Chief was often depicted as a near-invincible hero, capable of single-handedly taking on hordes of enemies. Hes like an unstoppable one man army. The marines are trash. And often are amazed at the mere sight of chief. However, in later installments, the focus shifted to emphasize that Master Chief is part of a larger Spartan program, with other Spartans being almost equally skilled. This change totally diminishes the sense of uniqueness and power associated with Master Chief's character. And it's not just me is it. Many people feel the magic of the 1st games was never recaptured.
