Thats why Lucifer chose Abbadon, and his 5 Chosen to subdue and imprison Samael instead? War being on a quest for vengeance to not only wipte out the Chosen, but end the Destroyer as well, provided a pérfect opportunity for Samael to let War do his dirty work fór him; Slay the 4 Chosen that guarded the 5th, by wielding a portion of Samael's stolen power? With Samael's power restored, and War eliminating Straga, ánd the Destroyer, Lucifer's masterplan was failing, granting Samael the full opportunity to plot and scheme against Lucifer; Attempt to gáin more power to overthrow the Prince of Lies? Perhaps alone, Perhaps the Horsemen would do it fór him. Either way, Samael was next in line in terms of Power. Besides Lucifer, there wasnt a Demon in Hell that'd actually be able to stand against Samael! And Lucifer's corrupted plot to trigger the Endwar was to be found out sooner or later; Samael nééded to regain his stolen Power, if he was to CLAIM his spot 'next in line'!

The Nephilim were made using the essence of Angels and Demons along with other unknown ingredients. Gulbannon was killed by his apprentice, a female maker and Liliths memory of the ingredients was wiped by the council after the Nephilim war/crusade ended. No one else in the cosmos knew how to make life meaning the ability to create new life was forever lost. The Nephilim do not have a father. They only have a mother since Lilith created them. The first Nephilim she created was Absalom. After Absalom came the first generation Nephilim. Death is part of the first generation Nephilim. After the first generation Nephilim proceeded the following generations (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and so forth) which were different from the first generation. Strife, Fury and War are part of the following generations as Death is considerably older than they are. Death also played a huge role in the creation of the grand abominations and he was very close to Absalom as the two considered each other friends and brothers. The grand abominations were created with the bodies of the raavaim an ancient race that the Nephilim slaughtered. The ravaim had the ability to morph parts of their bodies into flesh like weapons. They were a race more ancient than angels and demons. At this point the Nephilim had only begun their conquest and knew if they had to stand a chance against heavens and hells armies they would need a plan. So they conquered weak races first. The Ravaiim home world was one of the first worlds they conquered and was a strategic decision from their leader Absalom because Absalom knew he could use their bodies to their advantage. The grand abominations are be try powerful world/realm destroying weapons that can only be used with Ravaiim blood. Without it the weapons are considerably weaker or useless. The weapons were so powerful they were feared by the Nephilim theirselves many refusing to use them. The weapons are also alive and have a mind of its own making them hard to control as the Ravaiim who were turned into these weapons are still alive. Some of the weapons would seek vengeance against their users, the Nephilim. One such weapon was able to kill all members of your family if it hit you. That is how insane these weapons were. The use of these weapons were prominent in the battle of Kothysos. Ancient ones hired demon mercenaries to fight the Nephilim. It was a bloody battle with heavy losses on both sides. To win the Nephilim used the grand abominations against the demons. Not only did it win the battle but they killed Kothysos. It is now a wasteland with no life. After this battle the other Nephilim leaders vouched to not use the weapons as while they were effective they were too unpredictable. This was against Absaloms wishes. Death also was against the use of the weapons and regretted playing an integral role in creating them. The Nephilim would eventually have their downfall at the battle of Eden against the hellguard and the four horsemen who betrayed the Nephilim Death would eventually go out of his way to hide the grand abominations from creation in Kothysos. He kept it secret from the other horsemen aswell. And this kicks off the start of the abomination vault novel

Everyone always miss one of ulthane's cutscenes. After you are told to gather the fragments of the blade you can talk to Ulthane and it is there where War tells him Abaddon is the Destroyer, Ulthane loses his shit and War says he will get the Armageddon blade reforged.

Dude definitely. I usually hate when people say "When are we going to get (thing) the movie?" Cause not everything has to be that, but Darksiders is definitely the one that deserves a cinematic outing. Cutscenes are pretty good for what they are and considering this game's release date. Only thing that feels almost buggy is the environment sound during the cutscenes. Take the one with the black hammer for example where he smashes away a car... Sounds way to quiet and far away 🤷‍♂️

I'm a bit late, but it's likely because of his settings. Granted D1 didn't have the greatest cinematic sound effects in general, not like the sequel, but they were a lot better for me than this. The music also was very soft here, noticeable in 1:34:00 especially around the time the soundtrack 'Eden' plays.

Ok so the Council guys know that Abaddon is conspiring with someone (they dont know he conspired with Azrael) to break just enough seals to have Hell's leader to gather to declare battle rights so they can ambush them (but not all of them, so the horsemen arent called, hence why Abaddon keeps the seventh seal intact and also to himself). The plan is to reforge the seals so they can claim the truce was never broken and that the demons were killed because they invaded the angels or something

I feel bad because I love the story of Darksiders but I just feel like 2 and 3 lack the same production value of this one. Full actual cutscenes and DAMN good voice acting between Vulgrim, Samael, War and the Watcher. I love it all but 3 more than 2 just rubs me wrong. Fury feels so flat and forced while War and Death both feel organic. I just wish that as a character they fleshed her out more and gave her the same love. Her rapport with Pride was good, but everything else felt so out of character with the persona she exuded the rest of the game.

She is shown as done in comic - arrogant, impatient, selfish and full of fury (anger) If you look deep in each Darksiders game, each character does the opposite of there Name. War want to prevent war, Death brings life, strife fights alongside humans, fury finally got some chills :)

The Watcher sounds like the Joker from Arkham Asylum, not sure if Mark played that part.... nvm seen other post

I'm assuming that the end of darksiders 2 and 3 end right before Darksiders 1 ends. That's when he summons all the horsemen by breaking the seventh seal. This resurrects death as well. I'm guessing that the 5th darksiders installment will be continuing from this point and the game will feature all 4 horsemen. That's what I'm thinking.

I think so too. Haven't played Genesis yet but 2 and 3 are going on simultaneously with Strife pretending to be a human throughout most of 3

No, we’re still on darksiders 4 which will be exclusively from strifes POV as genesis was a spin off and prequel to the other 3 for backstory and exposition.

Lets first see if we even get Darksiders 4. We need to get a game with Strife as the main protagonist and see what was he up to during War's imprisonment
