The Arbiter's Story was one of the first one we wanted to do when we started doing character stories across a long series. He's a fan favorite in the Halo universe. His unshakable sense of honor makes him a natural leader among the Sangheili. He went from humanity's most feared enemy to one of its greatest allies. In this video, we used gameplay and cutscenes from the Halo 2 Anniversary terminals, H2A, Halo 3 and Halo 5. For Halo 3, we also played it 2 players so we could capture the campaign from Arbiter's perspective. We also decided to use some of the terminals that describe the history of the Arbiter's in general. Although these are directly about Thel 'Vadam they provide crucial context to the Covenant and the long history of glory and shame of the Arbiters. We hope you enjoy!

Versatile Lord Because many people suffered from Solid Snake MGS2 syndrome. They wanted to play as Snake in the sequel, after the first mission, they had to play as Raiden throughout the entire thing. And Halo 2 took that approach very similarly.

WG Gameplay I want to see a game about Master Chief's story when he was on reach, and when it was destroyed, just like the book Halo: Fall of Reach. Halo Reach was a great game indeed, I thought the campaign should have been about Master chief, instead of a random team of Spartans. Although the multiplayer was fantastic!

I love how Thel’s voice got more sympathetic and weak during his trial and his torturing, but when he put on the arbiter helmet, his voice sprung up in resilience to his newfound chance of honor and a peace, like it was a destined second chance

It was pretty much a golden chance for him to give his life dying in honorable battle, knowing that whatever suicidal mission he did as the Arbiter would be considered a noble act all for the sake of the great journey, living as the defeated supreme commander that let one of the sacred rings be destroyed would’ve been a living hell for him compared to give his life for his religion and beliefs as the Arbiter, pretty much the overly glorified martyrs of his people.

There wasn't always grunts that were weak, there was a Uggoy named Yayap who had, in the books rescued a special and honored elite who had been shot by the master chief on the pillar of autumn, promoting the grunt to a spec ops major. He was also the first grunt to ever threaten a high command elite with no fear overcoming him. He was a loyal Uggoy indeed.

So like our other "Story" videos. this is a cut of the Arbiter's storyline throghout the Halo series. This includes cutscenes and gameplay from Halo 2 Anniversary, H2A terminals, Halo 3 and Halo 5. We left some of the terminals that are about other Arbiter's because we feel they provide crucial backstory to both the Covenant and the role of the Arbiter. Thel was criminally underused in Halo 5, we hope he comes back with a bang in Halo 6.

Halo 2, despite the fact that it was released 16 years ago, it is still by far, my favorite halo game. I love the storytelling, level design, the characters, it's movie-like style of presenting the seen before you, there is so many things in the game that make it perfect. Edit: and don't forget about the soundtrack! It helps the scenes to evoke many different feelings; hope, triumph, sacrifice, dedication, the list goes on, and this helps to develop the characters, and their goals, which, without them, the story would be incomplete.

Adding arbiter to the covenant was the greatest added story arch for a sequels development in gaming history. Like the level of depth that went into it and the follow up conclusion of halo 3 just makes the games so awesome, those 3 games have as much replayability as good movies have rewatchability.
