To avoid a headache from the band stitch about a inch of the band onto a braid on each side and cut the band off that way you not sewing hair on top of the band making your head hurt

I sew my closure wigs down similar to this. I never use glue or anything like that. It works for me but I rarely see others doing it without glue. I'm glad you are sharing your knowledge. Love it! ❤
