Arberesh, Arvanites, Arbanasit should continue to speak their own version of this language, and I hope the books that are provided are in this version, cause as I've said before, it also helps Albanians in the Balkans themselves to get in touch with a part of the way the archaic Albanian language was spoken. I hope this language and culture is accepted and protected by UNESCO as well.

​@ po e di por un e kuptoj. Io una cosa non capisco perché siate così orgogliosi a parlare ancora la lingua albanese...non abbiamo una gloriosa nazione. Sempre ci odiano. Tutti parlano male... invece voi siete italiani nati gli cresciuti siete orgogliosi di essere italiani. Insomma i greci pretendo che siete greci...scusa una lunga domanda però sono curiosa a capire il perché .

Bukur, në Gegnisht themi "o" në vend të "ë". Gjuha Shqipe ë gluhë Arbëreshe. Gjuha Arbëreshe është ajo që na bashkon. Shqipja është vetëm degë e saj.

vet fjala shqip do te perkthehet anglisht me "speak, talk, pronounce". fjala apo termi "Shqipetar" i pershkruan gjithe folesit e gjuhes gege, toske, arberore apo arvanite. vecanterisht me ket fjal nuk mund t'arrini te beni diferencimin mes arbereshve dhe albaneve te shqiperise e sotme.

You can catch some modern-day Albanian by an educated Albanian - please make sure you don't add non-Albanian words, as many Albanians use foreign words in their vocabulary. Best wishes to you! I know Albanian very well let me know if you need any help with Albanian words - I can help as much as I can. I live in the USA, but was born and educated in Albania.

Why do we want to avoid adding non Albanian words ?

​@ARBERESH because if you add Sicilian words as you like to do, it is no longer Arberian. If you want the right words that were used by arberesh in the Middle Ages, you can come to Albania and find them. Do not compare Arbëresh language with standard Albanian because it is different even from the Albanian we speak in daily communication.

@ Well, on the Tirana streets it is easier to hear "avash" (turkish) compared to "ngadale" or as some people would say it "kadale"... so for foreigners, it would be difficult to discern between an Albanian original word from a turkish/slavic or greek word. I would want foreingers who are interested in Albanian language to learn the proper Albanian language first, then if they want to speak mixed street language, that's ok. This is valid for Arberesh who speak "katunze" if they want to enhance their Albanian language knowledge and vocabulary. You have the basics, and being bi-lingual in Italian and Arberesh/Katund language makes it easier for you to expand the Albanian vocabulary. I hope this helps.
