I use a clear pva glue sticks great and wont mist the plastic although its the last thing i do at nite as it needs a few hrs to set i leave it 8hrs but doesnt matter as im sleeping.

Back in the day Britfix 77 never had a cloudy cockpit canopy ever 😌 after that disappeared you'll never win

You can actually use both CA on clear parts, as long as you don't get cement where you can see the join, and as long as you make sure to allow the fumes to be ventilated out (to avoid chlorosis, or "blooming"). On some models, where the transparent part is glued in from the inside (e.g. airliners or some helo models), you definitely need to use CA. If you use anything weaker, you might accidentally push in the transparent windows into the inside of the model during consecutive handling, effectively ruining it. Don't ask me how I know... It seems that the "clear elmers" would be perfect for temporarily holding the canopy in place while painting it!

I have even used it on things like removable covers and the like. Then popped them off later.
