Glycine can open up the market alot by making a 40mm or 39mm combat sub. The case is one of the best diver design 👏
@AndyinSG4 жыл бұрын
40mm seems like the sweet spot. But I really don't see them developing a new case for this.
@rogerfilerable4 жыл бұрын
@@AndyinSG its a pity cuz can really open a whole lot more sales in the smaller size group. The 42mm case tooling etc has already been amortized many times over and saturated the market. 40mm with 20mm lugs can create new buyers. Just my thinking only. Cheers.

Beautiful watch! I've got the black pvd and blue gold versions in this model, love the satin brushed look, $288 on Ashford's! Only negative for me is the visible machining rings on the bezel insert,seems to be common on the newer models!
@AndyinSG4 жыл бұрын
These are great value watches. At $288-$348 i think they represent better value than many microbrands and even Seikos. I must go check my bezel insert for the machining rings you mentioned. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey nice review brother, im thinking to buy this model but full steel version with black dial looks a lot like Tudor bb58. But im also considering Seiko Alpinist spb121 or spb077 mm200. Which do you think from these three watches is the best and to buy first? Im thinking to buy three of them but when i sold my full collection.

Get the Glycine. You’d be pleasantly surprised at how much quality you get.

I love the design of this, but imagine it without the crown guards, it would look even better, more "vintage" i guess
@AndyinSG4 жыл бұрын
Francis Medallo No crown guard would definitely give a Tudor BB kinda vibe. Nice. Unfortunately I think Glycine doesn’t want to develop a new case, so it’s mainly dial design changes here.

@The Watch Kaki The new GL0339 looks perfect but they made it smaller! 36mm is on the small side for me.
@JS-ev4xc3 жыл бұрын
Glycine should use ceramic bezel insert to make its watches more wears&tear proof and value4$ esp when its competitors Squale & Steinhart are adopting ceramic bezel inserts.
@AndyinSG3 жыл бұрын
They’ve been doing some great value for money stuff. I really think the Combat Sub is the best entry level Swiss diver out there. But I really don’t want to talk about the marketing/website guys at Glycine.
@JS-ev4xc3 жыл бұрын
@@AndyinSG Agree, but isn't it more wonderful if it has ceramic insert?
@AndyinSG3 жыл бұрын
@@JS-ev4xc I’d love to see a matte finished one. Else I guess I’d take this simple aluminium one over a polished glossy ceramic insert.
@simonbailey21513 жыл бұрын
@@JS-ev4xc both have their good points, but I prefer aluminum on a vintage-style diver. Glossy ceramic works well on a modern-style Submariner homage. Obviously just my opinion 😁

Anyone know whats the size of the bezel insert? Plan to buy the watch and switch to ceramic bezel
@AndyinSG4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if this helps, I took a digital caliper to measure. The outer diameter is 40.8mm, inner diameter is 33.5mm. I’m measuring the aluminium bezel insert only, not the bezel itself.
