I have one GBD100-2 navy blue. Its not too small or too big and felt comfortable at my my hand because its straps. I like the huge number display. Very nice. This is my great Gshock ever.

What’s with laughters about the colors😮…. Any way, That’s a very simple to use ingeniously useful. It’s working on time zones in an instant mode. If it’s 3 o’clock in Italy, you put the inner bezel 3 o’clock on Italy and you can instantly tell what time it is in any other part of the world. Love it. It requires an elementary school geography knowledge throw to be able to find continents and countries. One of the best systems out there

I edited out the part about the strap. It looks kinda rally but not exactly that. The watch definitely needs a better strap. I am truly impressed by it. Really nice watch for the money.

Personally I own both models the GW 5000U and the 5610. As you point out the 5610 is much lighter due to the back plate secured by 4 screws. The 5000U has an all stainless steel case under the rubber housing and a screw in stainless steel case back. I enjoy having both models. Your review was excellent!

The display on the 5610U is a little bolder than that of the 5000U. Anyone else notice that?

My apologies for the long absence. I am OK. Thank you to my viewers who wrote in to ask if everything was OK. Very touched and totally appreciate the concern and support. I was just busy with my other hobby (music) which turned into gigs and all. Plus, I was very detached from this watch hobby altogether in the last few months. I agree because I've owned both and ended up giving the 5610 to my nephew. However, I do like the original style colour scheme on the 5610 and wish it was on the 5000. It would make it a direct decendant to the original dw5000 from '83. But still in my view one of the best watches ever made.

I completely agree with you. Although these full metal G-Shocks look quite stunning and beautiful, I would worry about scratching them and would have to treat them with extra care. This defeats the purpose and the spirit of G-Shock.

When I started collecting watches, this was one of my first ones. I sold it to make room…as I bought Omega, Tudor, Rolex and others…I started to miss this watch…so much so, that I recently purchased it again and I love it so much. There is something to this model. It’s simple and well made.

The only difference would be which market the watch was intended for. Suffix J means Japanese market. K means international market. I’m not sure what suffix B stands for.
