Glycolysis and Gluconeogenesis Regulation

This video explains in brief the most important step in the simultaneously regulating glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. Fructose 2,6 bisphosphatase is the central molecule in the regulation of glycolysis at phosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1) step and gluconeogenesis at fructose 1,6 bisphosphatase step. The concentration of fructose 2,6 BP is controlled indirectly by insulin and glucagon.

btw 1st of glycolysis is irreversible

Thank you for the correction. You are right, very first reaction in glycolysis is irreversible. I was in a flow, actually I meant glucose-6-phosphate to fructose 6-phosphate is a reversible reaction.
