if you ever done these you probably fought with the rail and just luckily were able to get the rails removed/installed. i took the time to figure it out and the trick to getting them in. the video is about 10 mins close to real time installation and recording. i hope this video helps out anyone else having to remove an injector or rail on a GM 3.6 LFX engine

I did this procedure on my GM 3.6 LLT, and boy let me tell you... there was a LOT of swearing going on. When fuel rail comes out you don't realized what you did to get it out, but at that point its just pure elation!

Great video Davion. I really feel like I would be better suited to install the fuel rail after watching your video. Thank you for the install tip.

Thanks man, they’re definitely a pain. I had a really hard time removing them. So in install I wanted to figure it out I had a couple Chevy techs just say yeah they suck lol or didn’t remember.

Hopefully this comment will help someone - My 2012 Cadillac SRX (has this same engine) started leaking gas. I looked and saw that it was coming from the injector area. So I bought a set of injectors, not genuine ones, and went through the process of replacing them. Seems it took me about 2 hours to get the rails in and out this first time, but by the end of my story I was getting it in and out in minutes, they do not make it easy. I went on one test drive with the new injectors and by the time I came back it was pouring out gas onto the driveway. When I took it apart I saw that the gas pressure had blown apart a few of the o-rings on the injectors and spraying the gas past them onto the engine. I figured this happened because I was being cheap and didn't get the OEM injectors. So I ordered an OEM set and went through the process again. When I got done the car was missing a lot and throw codes about low fuel pressure, so I replaced the fuel pump (6-8 hours labor). After one single test drive even more gas was leaking out from the fuel rail area again! So it gets taken apart again. What I did notice each time is that the gas pressure had blown apart one or more o-rings on the injectors and spraying gas past them onto the engine, lucky I did not have a fire. I determined that the fuel rails themselves were worn (not very common), so I replaced the fuel rails. Of course this meant buying yet another set of injectors, I was not gonna try to reuse any that came out of it, so I have a box full on injectors with about 2 miles on them. This fixed the issue. So I guess what I am saying is that if there is a gas leak from the injectors, examine the ones you remove and if the o-rings appear disfigured or torn, it may possibly be the rails need to be replaced.

Yeah I've checked into it and I'll have the entire rails out so I'll have the person asking for the favor to get the tool and New seal's along with the new gaskets ETC. Hopefully the tool and everything I'll need my place will have what I'll need. Good looking bro

Did you look at the factory repair instructions? “Remove head assembly”. That’s right…about $1,200 labor just to access the fuel rails…PLUS the labor to remove the rails, injectors, etc.

@@Itsdazeni I got them installed. Pretty straightforward once I watched your video. I did install new injector seals with the $45 tool from Amazon. On my 2012 Buick Enclave, I first installed the back (passenger side) injectors with the fuel rails and tightened down the bolts, but had to remove the fuel rails to get the front injectors in (leaving the back injectors in). Then, after removing the bolts on the back rail and removing it, I installed the front injectors without the fuel rail. The rest is kind of a blur, but somehow I put in the fuel rails. I had to install the front fuel rail all the way, then loosen up the back so I could lift it out a little bit so I could get the fuel pressure sensor installed with the fuel pressure socket I had. Then I tightened everything down. The car fired up after a few tries and now "seems" to run more smooth but I can definitely feel more power. Thanks again.

These things do suck to install, classic gm fucking it up at every turn. Like I've said a hundred times, after being a tech for 20+ years, you couldn't pay me to drive a gm anything. They are the worst built cars on the world, absolutely no thinking went into the creation of gm vehicles, it's purely about money and nothing else.
