If you have a lifter tick, you need to fix it. The lifter roller is wearing into the camshaft. The lifter roller isn't spining. That hardened metal will get into the bearings, and you'll need a new eng. Don't wait to fix it. You'll need to remove the vvl solenoid under the intake and see if there's metal on the screen. If there is, you need an engine. Even if you replace the cam, it's going to get a rod knock. The lifters fail because the camshaft was moved higher in the block for better valvetrain geometry. What happenes though is it gets less oil that bathes over the camshaft, and it wears out. It's an inherent design flaw.

Hoovie, it’s mandatory that you have to take a Hellcat on a high speed chase through Arkansas 😊

Tyler I have a 2020 Hellcat that developed the Hemi tick literally 200 miles after the warranty ran out. If you have Wizard fix it, do yourself a favor and put at least a stage 3 cam kit in it. The fuel system doesn't have to be upgraded or anything, and it takes the power from 707 to 870. Its cheaper than the OEM cam kit, increases power, and sounds so good at idle.

Mike the extra power you claimed to have gained from just that cam kit seems an awful lot buddy, - Would you care to expand a little ?

I would've bought the Hellcat too. Still has a lot of life in it.

No where near a comparison but i just got an '09 300c with the hemi and its got a dead c6 misfire. Same situation. I can either replace the motor. (Which is recommended at this point) or i can do cam and lifters and risk the same thing happening.

God Bless the honest mechanics out there like the Wizard. Absolutely love that man.

My 2015 Mustang Ecoboom had fluid filled motor mounts. After i threw a wrist pin through the block, i got it back and it was leaking. I thought, what in the world is wrong now. Motor mount? Wtf!? I got Steeda urethane mounts to replace. More vibration, but they won't leak.

Seems like this has seen some legit street car take overs.

The original owner has likely not maintained the car properly and the oil is old and gunky. I'd change the oil and add some Marvel Mystery to it before I'd rip the engine apart. What have you got to lose. Or run some engine cleaner through it before you change the oil. Amsoil makes a great cleaner. BG does too. I'd try either of those or both first before an engine tear down.

I had a similar tick on Ford with hydraulic cam followers it turned out it was just one that was stuck down, so resulted in a really cheap fix at the time thank goodness
