Balintawak only works if you are faster than your oppoenent. Try o make opponent faster than you. The whole training become obsolute.

That's why Kali is the most effective and deadly Martial Arts. Taboada is just showing you how sticks or weapons play, but in reality, you don't need a long exhibition display. It's only a split second use to kill.

A lot of the speed comes from efficiency, also you are training the body to move reflexively, automatically. No thought, the thought slows you down, let your body fight by itself. In this system we also assume our opponent is well-trained and armed. Watch GM Bobby's hands, they never leave a small area about the size of a basketball.

Not to worry, he has a lot of students and many are at a high level, this system also has several GMs who are comparable. And each student is taught how to teach it. Balintawak has multiple lineages down from the others who trained with Bobby under or with Anciong Bacon, some also notable namely Saavedra, Buot, Velez. They put their name on their lineage, but there is that common core to all Balintawak.
