If you are installing Bosch III models with the extra o-ring seat , i recommend manifold first and then carefully install the fuel rail on top, but for my specific case i had to install them on the rail first to install the small locking clips on them.

Note that putting the new injectors in the manifold first minimizes the risk of damaging the o-rings in the fuel rail. Both methods work but manifold first is safer.

@caddyboy84 yes, but after doing it for the first time you get used to it and you'll find out that it's pretty easy. Bosch III are a real good upgrade, and FIC is just the best ! You can visit Corvetteforum com the tech section and do a search for FIC , you will never be wrong with them. Yes its a good replacement, but i chose later the older style injectors because of the clips which i like better. Sign in at Corvetteforum ! See ya there !

Nice video... but you should include 305 TPI and LB9 in the tags because that engine uses the same fuel injection system. You'll get more hits on the video and help more people. :)

great video. I am in the middle of putting everything together. the gaskets got destroyed when I took it apart. I am using a gasket paste but notice now once I am putting the top part on there is quite some play 1mm on each side. the org thick gaskets would probably fill out that's space. do you think that it would be ok to screw it tight with paste or it will be a dead end?

Jimmie, please call Jon at fuelinjectorconnection.com at 770-888-1662 they will set you up with everything, including new rail orings which is a must, you don't want any possible leaks, let me know how it went !

Calderone (tvr2120) I would if i lived in sweden. I Have already found smal air leaks so When i am finish I expect a corvette engine with many new found horsepowers that wasnt there before :) I have halted my work until I can get my hands on new gaskets.

Hey man my car gets a rough idle and shuts off on me while driving and reaching warm temperatures. Then I have to wait for it to cool down to start again. Can it be injectors?
@tvr212011 жыл бұрын
Check your sensors first, IAC, O2 sensor, TPS , get the codes, then contact Fuelinjectorconnection for injectors

@caddyboy84 Hi, why did this job took so long , this is a 2 hour video edited into a 10 minute segment, the injector swap is pretty easy once you get used to it, why remove the EGR Valve ? it does not affect the fuel rail , Why the gas keep leaking ? you have to depressure the system first, never touched the vacuum module, and yes both runners has to come out. What was the TPI care you were working on ? Pics if possible thanks !!!

I don't remember having this issue last time I did it about 7 years ago lol so I just have to let it drain out?
@tvr21208 жыл бұрын
First thing is to disconnect the negative battery pole, that's all, Fuel pump won't work with no battery. No fuel will come out, That is all.

I aready have my plenum off and fuel rail off just had to stew back in to make it stop is it still ok to start car?

Calderone (tvr2120) dude....u are the greatest..video is great...could use your skills here in Florida to help me get my C4 from running so rich....some small modes were done on my 85 before i bought it...you think having a dyno to get me a OBDL EPOM will solve my issue. ..Memory Calibration (MemCal)....rather not go my to stock. ...wonder which is cheaper..
@tvr21207 жыл бұрын
Yes i got them, i wouldn't re-use old gaskets and seals on all of my builds, i wouldn't risk to have a fuel leak to save some pocket change

@tvr21208 жыл бұрын
You had to relieve the pressure yet, remove the fuel pump fuse, start the engine and let it die. If not, lots of fuel will come out.

i saw a chevrolet corvette c3 TPI motor for sale but the seller says it is an economical modern engine, how much would that use in kilometre/litre?
@tvr21208 жыл бұрын
TPI rules on the highway mileage when using with TH700R4 overdrive, anyway C4's had TPI, C3's had Crossfire Injection for the last model.

I did this job about 10 times already, what a poor design on gm part for the year, my poor torx bolts does not hold up well after many disassembles. (had to replace erg valve twice, injectors 3 times, misc vacuum lines and random troubleshooting's the rest of the times):)
@billwilson37927 жыл бұрын
this job sucks. This is a 30 year old motor with 30 year old parts. be careful you don't break anything. When I unbolted my fuel lines the copper tubing crumbled and broke. The video id exactly what its like to do. Good luck
