GM Duramax L5P ECU/ECM (E41) Teardown Part 1

Taking a first look at the E41 ECU, used in Duramax L5P (or so I've been told - I don't own one). Some of my thoughts on security features that are in use in the suspected main ECU controller and how you might probe it further. Later videos will (hopefully) dive into more detail, this one doesn't involve powering anything on.

Wow this is amazing watched all 3 vids!! I’m j-tagging a e67 pcm can you help me? Also use a blow torch to take apart and desolder my processors! I traced the pins via multi meter. I’m using pe micro fx, and I was able to connect and read the 2meg flash. I can’t erase or write though? That’s were I need help? Keeps resetting

@@slicksloth_416 Modifying the ECM with hard parts is not the same as cracking the OEM security code. But yeah, HP tuners and a few other sources offer aftermarket ECMs for a few grand so you can tune your L5P.
