You should still go for the jerome when they bring the knight out instead, I actually find that i have more success with that, but after you gambit the knight you do d5 then e6 to hit the knights, then bring out the queen with a check. It’s like a delayed Jerome. But idk how well it’d work against higher level players i guess

LOL. When I was 1900 I got a draw from a GM. A friend of who was 1900 beat a GM in a major swiss. That was in the 1970s for my friend and in the 1980s for my draw. I'm old now and hopelessly on my floor rating and haven't played a tournament in about decade.

What an amazing mind he has... Hikaru, any way you could explain your moves a bit so us idiots might learn better ways to think about chess positions? It is insane that you can play so well while having random conversations about politics and gold. Not like you need/take any advice, just wanted to throw that out there. I'd personally watch a lot more if it was a bit more instructional.

@yaboykirby7789
@yaboykirby7789 3 жыл бұрын
Qf3 is not great but I think it's winning since you don't lose material and he's allready a pawn up so I think it's not ideal but fine. If the opponent trades queens he gains the F3 pawn but loses E7 pawn (which I think Hikaru would be fine with) and if the opponent takes his bishop then Hikaru takes the opponents bishop and I think probably gains another pawn down the line although maybe worse positionally. I think the opponent saw this board state from a few moves away and was aiming at QD5 then got here and realized oh shit Qf3 is still completely winning
@gamerdio2503
@gamerdio2503 3 жыл бұрын
After Qd5 you go Qf3. If queen takes bishop, your queen can take the bishop on b7. If queen takes queen, gxf3, Bxf3, there's Rxe7, which stockfish evaluates at about +1.5. The original position is +0.0
