@@QuazarM87 LOL, no, but a lot of people speculate they have hooked up a bit. There was the night streaming from the hotel room together for example. And some super flirty video streams. Plus they are both fun, attractive, confident people - so it's kind of easy to imagine. But maybe all BS. Who knows.

I miss that sound from chess tournaments when I was younger. Sounds like giant hail or something on video, but in person it’s a very distinct wood sound. I dunno why I love that sound so much. I was always nervous as hell playing with a bunch of people around. But now I just miss it.

This isn’t her first time trying things like this - removing opponent’s pawn from the board and moving her pieces illegally, etc. Also, this isn’t a random game vs a random person in a park. You’re playing Danya and resorting to cheap tricks (cheating) to win.

She played a kings Indian vs a Jabava London king side pawn storm. She was lost after 5-6 moves. Defending well is coming to an equalish endgame. She was crushed in the endgame. She was literally down a full piece in material.

@@bearsard_5101 actually she didn’t survive at all she got crushed. If she survived she would have either won or got a draw. Resigning is the exact opposite of surviving.

@@bearsard_5101 he had a winning position by move 10 and was up a full minute in a 3 minute game by move 15. He was clearly well into his preparation at that point while she was defending for her life. When he decided to take it into an end game he was up 3 pawns. She never had a single winning advantage and would have got checkmated if she didn’t resign. How is that commendable?

It’s so hard to refute it too. You have to go for the a6 setup with d5, c5, and Nc6 that Fabiano went for apparently…That’s the best line against it

Absolutely my favorite way to play against the Grünfeld. I have lines against c6 and h5, but not h6. Good to know that Nf3 is the proper response in all three.

To be clear: Naroditsky and Bortnyk put together a course on the Jobava London; so you can learn as much as he knows, if you want.

He didn't play the line recommended in their course, they recommend 7. Qd2, not 7.Bd3

@@josephascencio-parvy7805 No it’s on the verge of being lost (at least black isn’t losing this endgame for sure) because black’s king is too active and at the very least, the h pawn is falling which gets rid of the pawn advantage plus the black king seems to be shouldering the white king and pawns. Generally trading into a king and pawn endgame up a pawn is good but always check king activity and the paths of each king!

I searched for the tournament online so I could review the game and see the final standings but couldn't find it anywhere. The Charlotte chess open I saw was of the same players but different matchup.

did you guys notice that the clock was on the wrong side? It was supposed to be on the left of White according to the FIDE handbook but during the game, it was to the right of Danya.

Not a Fide event. USCF rules allow the player of Black to choose the placement of the clock.

Black’s king is too active and at the very least the h pawn is falling (therefore no more pawn advantage) plus black is shouldering/flanking first and contains the outside (passer g pawn compared to f pawn), therefore white is on the verge of being lost and given the position white is in before mass trades, a position where white is on the verge of losing (probably losing) is not in their interest at all, compared to the weak black king without mass trades.
